Be a driving force in WPP's global finance transformation! This isn't just another accounting role; it's a chance to shape the future of a global creative powerhouse. We're seeking a highly motivated and technically skilled Group Financial Reporting Manager, on a 12 month FTC basis, to join our dynamic team at our London Corporate Headquarters. This is a high-impact role within a vibrant learning environment, offering significant growth potential.

What you'll be doing:

As a key player in both our Group reporting function, you'll be at the heart of WPP's financial operations. You'll contribute directly to:

  • Elevating financial reporting processes: Identify opportunities and drive improvements in our Group's financial reporting procedures.
  • Influencing senior leadership: Prepare and present key financial information to senior management, providing valuable insights and analysis.
  • Navigating multifaceted financial landscapes: Tackle challenging areas like earnout liability valuations, put option accounting, pension liability accounting, and hyperinflation adjustments.
  • Driving M&A success: Play a vital role in WPP's acquisition strategy, analysing due diligence reports, assessing intangible assets, and ensuring seamless financial integration. (WPP is an acquisitive company, offering continuous exposure to exciting new ventures!)
  • Leading complex accounting activities: Take ownership of critical areas like lease accounting, share-based payments, investments, and financial instruments.
  • Mastering the intricacies of goodwill and impairment testing: Hone your technical expertise by managing WPP's goodwill and intangible balances and conducting impairment tests.
  • Powering global consolidation: Contribute to the consolidation of a vast network of companies across multiple jurisdictions and currencies.
  • Ensuring compliance and rigour: Monitor compliance with WPP Reporting and Accounting Policies and Sarbanes-Oxley Act requirements.

 

What you'll need:

  • Qualified and experienced: ACA/ACCA/CA qualified with a proven track record of project management in a fast-paced environment, ideally within a Big 4 firm.
  • IFRS expert: Deep understanding of IFRS accounting standards, experience with Sarbanes-Oxley rules and regulations preferred.
  • Complex consolidation master: Experience with large, complex, multi-currency group consolidations, preferably within a UK premium or US-listed company.
  • Analytical powerhouse: Exceptional analytical skills, meticulous attention to detail, and sound judgment.
  • Communication guru: Ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders, from operating companies to senior management.
  • Driven and organised: Self-motivated, highly organized, and able to manage multiple deadlines under pressure.
