Job Summary: WPP is seeking an Vice President of Paid Media to lead and expand our paid media capabilities, specifically serving our diverse portfolio of healthcare clients till the end of the year. The VP of Paid Media will be responsible for developing and executing cutting-edge paid media strategies that drive client objectives, enhance brand visibility, and achieve measurable business impact within the highly regulated healthcare sector. This strategic leader will oversee significant client budgets, and leverage advanced analytics and industry expertise to deliver best-in-class results.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership & Client Partnership:

  • Develop and own the overarching paid media strategy for WPP and its clients, aligning with their specific business goals, therapeutic areas, and regulatory requirements.

  • Act as a senior strategic advisor to clients, presenting innovative paid media solutions, performance insights, and market opportunities.

  • Lead the development of comprehensive media plans, ensuring integration with broader communications strategies (PR, medical education, digital, social).

Campaign Management & Optimization (Healthcare Focus):

  • Oversee the planning, execution, and optimization of paid media campaigns across a variety of channels relevant to healthcare audiences (HCPs, patients, caregivers, payers), including: Search Engine Marketing (SEM), Paid Social (e.g., LinkedIn for HCPs, Meta for patient awareness), Programmatic Display/Video, Connected TV (CTV), Native Advertising, and potentially emerging platforms.

  • Drive advanced testing strategies for ad copy, creatives, landing pages, bidding strategies, and audience targeting, always considering healthcare-specific nuances and sensitivities.

  • Implement sophisticated attribution models and measurement frameworks to accurately assess campaign effectiveness and inform budget allocation for clients.

  • Ensure best practices in ad operations, tracking, tagging, and data integrity, with a strong emphasis on privacy and data security.

Budget Management & Financial Acumen:

  • Manage and optimize client paid media budgets, ensuring efficient allocation of spend to maximize ROI and achieve client KPIs.

  • Negotiate and manage relationships with media vendors, ad tech partners, and platforms, securing favorable terms for WPP and its clients.

  • Provide regular financial reporting and forecasting to clients and internal stakeholders, demonstrating the impact of paid media on client business objectives.

Cross-Functional Collaboration & Agency Growth:

  • Partner closely with WPP's PR, Digital, Creative, and Account teams to ensure integrated campaign strategies and consistent messaging across all client touchpoints.

  • Contribute to new business development efforts, participating in pitches and developing compelling paid media proposals.

  • Serve as a thought leader within the agency and industry, sharing insights and best practices.

Innovation & Ad Tech:

  • Stay abreast of the latest industry trends, emerging platforms, ad technologies, and regulatory changes impacting healthcare advertising.

  • Evaluate and recommend new tools, platforms, and strategies to enhance WPP's paid media capabilities and drive innovation for clients.

  • Champion the adoption of AI and machine learning within paid media operations for optimization and automation, while maintaining compliance.

The base salary range for this position at the time of this posting is indicated below. Individual compensation varies based on job-related factors, including location, business needs, level of responsibility, experience, and qualifications. $100,000 - $230,000 USD
