Why we are hiring:

WPP Open is seeking an individual to build and run our outbound lead generation operation from Madrid. This is a leadership role focused on establishing the engine that will drive qualified opportunities for WPP Open, our AI platform for marketing. 

You will be responsible for defining the regional GTM strategy, designing the sales development process, and managing the lead generation team to ensure a consistent flow of qualified meetings are booked for our UK-based Account Executives. You will define the "what" and the "how" for the team, building the scripts, leveraging our CRM for tracking, and providing the daily coaching needed to hit our ambitious growth targets. You will work closely with the VP Growth Strategy to align on content and targeting strategies. 

 

What you’ll be doing 

  • Lead generation strategy & process: Build, implement, and refine the regional GTM strategy, call scripts, email templates, and sales plays that the execution team will use for all outbound prospecting. 
  • Sales Development team leadership: Manage and mentor a team of Sales Development Representatives (SDRs), providing daily coaching, performance feedback and training. 
  • CRM utilization & tracking: Ensure all lead generation activities, leads, and outcomes are meticulously tracked within the CRM system. 
  • Performance tracking & reporting: Define, monitor, and report on KPIs, with a focus on the number of qualified meetings booked and pipeline generated. 
  • Strategic Collaboration: 
  • Work closely with UK-based Account Executives to understand opportunity needs and optimise lead quality. 
  • Collaborate with VP Growth Strategy on content strategy, messaging, and target audience definition. 
  • Partner with the Sales Enablement pod to ensure your team has the latest and most effective marketing collateral (e.g., case studies). 

 

What you’ll need 

  • Significant experience in a business development or inside sales leadership role, preferably within a SaaS, tech, or agency environment. 
  • Proven ability to design, build, and scale outbound lead generation/sales development processes and plays from the ground up. 
  • Working knowledge of CRM systems (Salesforce preferred). 
  • Leadership, coaching, and performance management skills. 
  • A data-driven, analytical mindset, with a record of hitting and exceeding targets. 
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, including collaborating with senior leadership and sales teams. 
  • English language fluency is required; additional languages are a plus
