Why we're hiring:

WPP is executing a global ERP transformation programme focused on deploying a common finance template built on the Deltek Maconomy platform. This solution is already live across multiple countries spanning Europe, APAC, the Americas, and the Middle East. Together, Maconomy and the broader Global Business Services application suite form the foundation of WPP’s global finance technology ecosystem.

A key objective of the programme is to ensure that Maconomy remains on the latest supported version, with the current roadmap focused on transitioning the entire application estate from the legacy Workspace client to the modern web client by mid-2027. This transition will require extensive functional testing to ensure a seamless migration of business-critical processes.

Within this role, you will be responsible for evaluating new product features and identifying opportunities to deliver additional value to the organisation. The role will require you to test new functionality, provide internal training to business-as-usual (BAU) support teams, and develop documentation to support effective change management and user adoption.

What you'll be doing:

  • Manage the BAU environment associated with these tools, working with the business users, supplier teams, and 3rd party helpdesks to triage & resolve application issues
  • Keep key stakeholders informed of progress on issues, enhancements, releases
  • Deliver small projects in conjunction with the Finance Application Product Manager – e.g. changes, new functionality, rollout of existing features to new geographies
  • Ensure that all changes (projects, enhancements, fixes) are fully tested, including by business users
  • Test the internally developed changes to the software
  • Working with users & technical teams to triage issues with individual applications to ensure issues are pinpointed and driven to resolution.  This will include triaging / fixing issues relating to one application or interfaces between applications, often involving working with multiple suppliers to investigate & fix
  • Testing Support – carrying out SIT (System Integration Testing), documenting UAT testing, following up with users to drive completion of testing and sign-off
  • Carrying out System Admin or configuration activities on business applications – e.g. setting up or amending Security groups in accordance with audit and compliance
  • Monitoring performance of tools and tracking any issues and escalation in proactive manner, driving escalations as needed
  • Understanding and configuring tools for local deployment where any such configuration is outside vendor scope and outside the skillset of internal users
  • Develop & maintain documentation relating to configuration of the tools to simplify future rollouts & support Audit requests.
  • You will be requested to work with internal and external audit, good understanding of the application and documentation will be necessary

What you'll need:

  • Strong communication and confidence to present new functionality
  • A basic understanding of accounting and finance knowledge
  • Strong technical awareness of tool-based / SaaS packages and application integrations
  • Strong understanding of finance back-office processes and how these are supported by applications
  • Strong ability to use tools for documentation, ticketing and training
  • Highly motivated, flexible team player and manager with the ability to deliver in a timely and professional manner.
  • Confident working with technical IT teams and business users about IT applications
  • Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority
  • Willingness to learn and grow with the role
