Who we are looking for
A proactive and highly skilled Data Scientist, eager to apply and advance expertise in algorithms and data analysis. Proficient in leveraging Python, Jupyter, and GCP services to analyse, extract, and drive insights from complex datasets within our core HQ team. This individual will take ownership of key data science initiatives, developing and optimising solutions that deliver significant business value. This role is fundamental to sustaining momentum on high-impact projects and is crucial for embedding core data science intelligence and building institutional knowledge. The position requires lateral thinking and strategic problem-solving, ensuring a direct and embedded contribution to our solutions enhancement work.
Key Skills:
- Strong and demonstrable programming skills in Python and extensive experience using Jupyter notebooks for data analysis and visualisation.
- Proven proficiency in GCP services such as BigQuery, Google Cloud Functions, and Vertex AI.
- Solid understanding and practical application of machine learning techniques in data activation solutions, including supervised and unsupervised learning, classification, and regression models.
- Expert proficiency in data manipulation and cleaning using libraries like Pandas and NumPy, ensuring high-quality datasets for analysis and modelling.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex findings, derive strategic insights, and present recommendations to diverse stakeholders independently.
- Ability to work autonomously and demonstrate proactive problem-solving, critical for an embedded HQ role.
Description:
- Drive the development and implementation of data science algorithms for critical strategic initiatives, including but not limited to Footfall Accelerator, Guaranteed Outcomes, Total Audio Planner, and Integrated Social.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to design and execute A/B tests, rigorously analysing results to uncover actionable insights and formulate strategic recommendations.
- Utilise Python and Jupyter notebooks to preprocess, analyse, and model large datasets, identifying trends and patterns that directly inform strategic decision-making and solution enhancement.
- Lead efforts to optimize marketing campaigns and other business processes through advanced data-driven approaches.
- Present findings and strategic insights to internal stakeholders, ensuring clarity, impact, and driving consensus.
- Engage in continuous learning and development to advance data science capabilities, contributing actively to the team's intellectual growth and the evolution of our solutions.
- Act as a critical in-house expert, contributing to an environment of innovative and lateral thinking within the HQ team.
Education:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related quantitative discipline.
Ideal Certifications:
- Python for Data Science (Coursera/similar advanced program)
- Google Cloud Machine Learning Engineer (Associate/Professional)
