The Assistant Manager, Client Growth acts as a strategic consultant, partnering with internal media planning teams to align WPP Media Solutions with client objectives. This role focuses on driving internal adoption of solutions, translating client briefs into actionable strategies, and providing expert guidance on the programmatic ecosystem without managing direct campaign execution.

Strategic Consulting & Solutions Design

  • Partner with media planning teams to evaluate client briefs and recommend the most effective media solutions to meet campaign objectives.
  • Develop and implement 12-month solution integration plans for designated agencies and clients.
  • Identify opportunities for solution adoption, manage a pipeline of upcoming client campaigns, and drive the internal integration of specific Advertising Technology (AdTech) products.
  • Act as a subject matter expert for WPP Media Solutions, educating internal teams on programmatic capabilities and ecosystem dynamics.
  • Monitor industry trends and analyze competitor offerings to inform solution positioning and strategic recommendations.

Stakeholder Management & Strategy

  • Interpret client briefs to design tailored media strategies that align with overarching business goals.
  • Ensure internal planning teams receive proactive updates, including product capability documentation, industry updates, and new solution playbooks.
  • Manage relationships with internal stakeholders, ensuring alignment across cross-functional teams to design cohesive media campaigns.
  • Articulate complex media strategies and present technical data to planning teams and clients in a clear, persuasive manner.

Process & Governance

  • Supervise the internal recommendation and approval process to ensure adherence to strategic best practices.
  • Monitor strategic delivery workflows to ensure all internal and external Service Level Agreements (SLAs) are met or exceeded.

Skills and Experience

Required Experience

  • 2 to 3 years of experience navigating the programmatic advertising ecosystem, possessing a strong theoretical and practical understanding of how platforms like Demand-Side Platforms (DSPs) operate.
  • Demonstrated background in media planning, solutions consulting, or client strategy within the AdTech industry.
  • Proven track record of advising internal teams or client stakeholders on media strategy and platform capabilities.

Core Competencies

  • Strategic Communication: Ability to translate complex data and programmatic concepts into actionable insights for non-technical stakeholders and planning teams.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Skilled at coordinating with multiple internal teams (such as trading and analytics) to ensure the proposed media strategies are viable and aligned with client goals.
  • Brief Translation: Proficiency in converting high-level client objectives into tactical, platform-specific media recommendations.
  • Technological Proficiency: Familiarity with leveraging Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools to enhance strategy development, optimize planning workflows, and automate routine tasks.
