Role Summary and Impact

WPP Media Hong Kong is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Assistant Accountant to join our Finance team. Reporting to the Finance Manager (GL), you will be responsible for key accounting functions including month-end closing, account reconciliation, and managing intercompany transactions. This role is integral to maintaining the accuracy of our financial reporting and ensuring compliance with internal controls and audit requirements.

 

Core Responsibilities:

  • Month-End Closing & Reporting: Handle month-end closing procedures, including the preparation of management reporting schedules and conducting variance analysis.
  • Account Reconciliation: Perform monthly reconciliations for various accounts to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data.
  • Intercompany Transactions: Oversee and manage intercompany transactions, ensuring proper recording and reconciliation between entities.
  • Process & Control Implementation: Assist the department in establishing, maintaining, and coordinating the implementation of accounting processes and internal control procedures.
  • Audit Support: Provide comprehensive support for external, internal, and Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) audits, including the preparation of required schedules and documentation.
  • Vendor Management: Manage the setup and maintenance of vendor codes within the financial system.
  • Ad-Hoc Projects: Perform ad-hoc assignments and projects as required by the finance department.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Degree holder or above in Accounting or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in a similar capacity.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, with high attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Proactive, eager to learn, and capable of performing under pressure in a fast-paced environment with strong multi-tasking abilities.
  • Possesses an analytical mindset and effective problem-solving skills.
  • A strong team player with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese.
  • High proficiency in MS Office applications.
