Role Summary and Impact

Global Account Planner – Worldwide/EMEA

The role is focused within one team, with responsibilities across 3 of the agency’s important international client assignments. It offers the opportunity to work with high profile, iconic brands in and gain experience across categories and varying client challenges.

Reports to Business Director on AkzoNobel, Klarna and 3M clients

Accountabilities associated with the role include:

Client Account Management:

  • Help manage and build the client/agency relationship
  • Strong attention to detail to make sure all work delivered is accurate
  • Tenacity to ensure any work that is briefed out comes back within deadline
  • Ability to multi-task and work across more than one project at a time
  • Be the project lead and key client contact for certain particular briefs
  • Add value: Be curious, ask yourself the questions your client or manager would ask about your deliverables before they do
  • Be willing to react to change or suggest it where you see opportunities to improve
  • Identify bigger picture media topics that are pertinent to/would add interest and value to challenges on your clients

Data Analysis / Reporting:

  • Develop a strong understanding of our competitive sets, their spending patterns and assumed media strategy
  • Assist in analysis of research to support strategic projects, and develop clear, accurate and informative presentations to show key insights and data
  • Ability to review and generate an understanding of activated solutions:
    • Summarize key takeouts to team members and clients, or questions outliers
    • Create and present post campaign analyses to clients
    • Be able to identify opportunities, threats and recommendations

Operating & Technical Skills:

  • Work closely with internal teams to manage briefs that come in from the client and establish SLA’s and timelines
  • Apply a working knowledge of media planning skills in support of our mission to drive integrated and effective media solutions
  • Assist the senior team leaders in the day-to-day management of Global projects
  • Support the wider team, helping provide support collateral for key meetings
  • Actively look to improve established processes to improve efficiencies across the account

Market Co-ordination:

  • Build strong relationships with the local EssenceMediacom teams
  • Be adept at managing timely delivery of input information from multiple contacts
  • Collection and assessment of communication plans and investment data
  • Consolidation and analysis of relevant information across all the markets – i.e. media landscape information, brand tracking, consolidating client-specific data and generating learnings.

  • Experience in planning roles within a media agency
  • Media know-how, terminology, media math and media plan execution (e.g., reach, frequency, universe, rating, CPM)
  • Experience in managing client stakeholders
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ideally experience of working in multi-market teams
  • Strong quantitative & analytical skills, able to utilize media and insight data
  • Excellent computer skills: Especially Excel & PowerPoint
