Role Summary and Impact
We are currently looking for a Commercial Analyst to join us. You will be a key point of contact for our business and shared service teams, providing crucial support for financial operations. In this role, you will help maintain and improve WPP Media’s procedures and standards, ensuring compliance with business and regulatory guidelines.
What you will do:
- Perform the media campaign reconciliation process, investigating and resolving discrepancies with the media team to ensure media plans are accurately reflected in our systems.
- Support and collaborate with the account management team on all financial aspects of their client accounts, including billing, collections, and payments, to drive operational efficiency.
- Execute key month-end close activities, including the preparation of journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Support the monthly/quarterly forecasting and annual budgeting processes by gathering data and preparing analyses.
- Prepare accurate and timely internal and client-facing financial reports.
- Assist in gathering documentation for Client, Financial, and SOX audits to ensure compliance.
- Perform ad-hoc financial analysis and duties as required by the finance team.
What you will need:
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of relevant experience in a Finance or Accounting position.
- Prior hands-on experience in Accounts Receivable, Billing Operations, or General Ledger is required. Experience in the media or advertising industry is a significant advantage.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, complex formulas) and experience with the Google Suite.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve issues effectively.
- Highly responsible and diligent with a strong attention to detail; demonstrates commitment to accuracy and follow-through on all tasks.
- A positive attitude, a strong work ethic, and the ability to work both independently with minimal supervision and as a collaborative team player.
- Strong communication skills, comfortable liaising with internal teams, clients, and suppliers.
