Overview of the Role
The Manager – Media Buying & Investment is responsible for leading media investment and buying operations, ensuring optimal delivery of campaign objectives across reach, ratings, cost efficiency, and performance metrics. The role oversees buying excellence, broadcaster partnerships, reporting, and process optimization while driving operational efficiency and supporting strategic decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
Media Investment & Buying
- Oversee evaluation of media schedules to ensure delivery against planned reach, ratings, CPRP, GRPs, frequency, and overall campaign objectives.
- Ensure all media investment and buying KPIs are consistently achieved across assigned accounts.
- Monitor campaign delivery and optimize plans to maximize media efficiency and effectiveness.
- Review planned versus actual performance in terms of spend, inventory utilization, and campaign outcomes.
Performance Monitoring & Reporting
- Lead monthly business and investment reporting for regional stakeholders and senior leadership.
- Conduct regular channel performance reviews to identify optimization opportunities.
- Analyze campaign performance metrics and recommend corrective actions where required.
- Ensure timely and accurate reporting across all media investment activities.
Stakeholder & Partner Management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with broadcasters and media partners to secure optimal commercial outcomes.
- Collaborate with internal planning, strategy, and client teams to ensure seamless campaign execution.
- Support negotiations and resolve operational challenges with media partners.
Team Leadership & Operations
- Supervise the media buying team to ensure quality, accuracy, and adherence to timelines.
- Allocate work effectively and monitor team performance against delivery standards.
- Mentor and develop team capabilities to strengthen buying expertise and operational excellence.
Process Excellence
- Continuously monitor existing media buying processes and recommend improvements to enhance efficiency, speed, and accuracy.
- Drive implementation of best practices and standard operating procedures across media investment operations.
- Ensure compliance with internal processes, governance, and financial controls.
Key Skills & Competencies
- Strong understanding of media buying, investment planning, and campaign delivery metrics.
- Expertise in television/media performance measurement including Reach, GRPs, CPRP, Ratings, and Frequency.
- Strong analytical and reporting capabilities.
- Commercial acumen with negotiation and partner management skills.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication abilities.
- Leadership and team management skills.
- Process improvement and operational excellence mindset.
- High attention to detail with strong problem-solving abilities.
Experience & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Mass Communication, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in media buying, media investment, or media operations.
- Experience managing media buying teams and broadcaster relationships.
- Proficiency in media planning and reporting tools.
Strong knowledge of media measurement and campaign optimization methodologies
