Role Summary and Impact
This is an exciting role for a sharp, ambitious Associate Media Director to drive innovative media for our client, which is a globally renowned leading innovator, designer, and marketer of athletic footwear, apparel, and equipment. You'll be at the forefront of crafting impactful campaigns that resonate with youth culture across Southeast Asia and India. This isn't just about planning; it's about ensuring flawless campaign execution and delivering inspiring work that truly cuts through the noise. We need someone with big strategic ideas and meticulous attention to detail to bring them to life across both digital and traditional media.
Skills and Experience
What you will do:
- Integrated Media Planning: Building from global brand strategy, you will be responsible to develop comprehensive and sound media plans, spanning both digital and traditional channels in India, Thailand, Philippines and Singapore. This includes both Branding and Performance activities.
- Campaign Execution: Work with relevant teams to deploy both Brand and Mid-Funnel performance media campaigns. Demonstrate clear and hands-on understanding of key digital platforms such as Meta, TikTok, Google, Programmatic. Support junior team members with campaign setup to ensure best in class campaign execution.
- Client & Stakeholder Management: Establish strong working relationships with the client team and local market WPPMedia teams.
- Market Management: Build strong working relationships with WPP Media teams in local markets (India, Thailand and Philippines) to deliver best in class media execution. Work with them to implement effective ways of working and create a true partnership.
- Campaign Performance & Optimization: Responsible for reporting and optimizing campaign delivery. You will lead the creation of in-flight reporting and ensure KPIs are delivered on track.
- Account Operations: Facilitate a smooth finance process of PO trackers, monthly billing inputs and reconciliations.
- Creative & Strategic Contribution: Actively contribute to the development of big ideas and inspiring work that aligns with the client's brand ethos. Work closely relevant stakeholders to present fresh and exciting strategic ideas.
Measures of Success:
- In 3 Months:
- Establish strong working relationships with key client contacts, internal teams and media partners.
- Gain a comprehensive understanding of client’s media approach and annual plan, past campaign performance across all media channels.
- Participate with the team on day-to-day conversation with the client for Brand as well as Performance and share a point of view and propose new initiatives.
- Rigor in setting and tracking campaign KPIs. Ensure effective and accurate optimization and delivery of performance utilizing all relevant internal teams, agency processes and tech.
- In 6 Months:
- Take ownership of end-to-end client servicing and planning for campaigns, leading weekly client discussions.
- Proactively build strategies to enhance campaign performance and identify new opportunities (e.g., audience strategies, channel recommendations).
- Ensure meticulous setting and tracking of campaign KPIs, driving effective optimization and delivery through internal teams and tech.
- In 12 Months:
- Deliver best-in-class client servicing, evidenced by strong client feedback
- Ensure cost guarantees are met to avoid any malus on the business.
- Lead specific campaigns as the brand and performance champion, responsible for the full end to end process from strategy through to measurement and optimization.
What you will need:
- At least 8+ years of integrated media experience.
- Strong working experience in digital media planning and buying, offline media knowledge would be a plus.
- Experience working in client relationship management, preferably within multi-market (SEA) environment.
- Able to challenge and provide intelligent feedback to clients and local markets.
- Experience developing communication strategy, in either a marketing or media environment.
- Strong organizational, operational and numeracy skills
- Proactive mindset, strong attention to detail, able to multi-task and handle multiple projects at one time.
- Passionate about the media and communications industry and keen to stay on top of the ever-evolving media landscape.
- Leadership skills in building and leading operation excellence for the team.
