Job Summary/Purpose As the Manager of Data Operations, you will hold a critical, high-impact role responsible for the integrity and efficiency of our marketing data infrastructure. You will manage the development and maintenance of our business intelligence tools, data pipelines, and data quality compliance processes. This is a hands-on role where you will act as the crucial intermediary between our BI and Technology teams, translating business needs into technical requirements and solutions. You will be the subject matter expert for our core data systems, driving projects from requirement gathering to completion and ensuring the highest standards of data governance. This position does not have direct reports. 

 

Key Responsibilities and Functions 

  • Database & Pipeline Management: Manage database logic, implement changes, and oversee the building of data pipelines and APIs to support business needs. 
  • Business Analysis & Project Management: Analyze data, consult with subject matter experts, and write clear business and technical requirements. Create and manage project timelines, prioritize tasks using tools like Azure DevOps and Smartsheets, and hold all parties accountable for deliverables. 
  • Data Quality & Governance: Act as the lead for investigating and resolving data discrepancies and issues submitted via support tickets. Proactively identify solutions for data quality problems and operational inefficiencies, collaborating with cross-functional teams to implement fixes and improvements. 
  • Subject Matter Expertise: Serve as the go-to expert for questions and projects related to our data quality processes, BI tools, and business rules, ensuring best practices are followed across all initiatives. 
  • Stakeholder Management: Build and maintain positive relationships with internal teams and external vendors, effectively communicating roles, responsibilities, and expectations to ensure project alignment and success. 
  • Process Acumen: Develop a comprehensive understanding of the full campaign implementation workflow across all media channels to inform data strategy and troubleshooting. 

 Job Requirements 

Education and Experience: 

  • Bachelor's or advanced degree in Statistics, Economics, Business, Math, Computer Science, or a related field is preferred. 
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in the marketing or media industry (e.g., digital investment, analytics, ad operations). 
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in data governance processes within a data warehousing, ETL, and business intelligence environment. 
  • 1-2 years of experience in a business analysis or technical project management role. 
  • Proven experience handling diverse datasets (e.g., paid media, owned media, offline) across multiple channels (digital, search, social, etc.). 
  • Indispensable: Strong proficiency and hands-on experience with SQL and Microsoft Azure for database management. 
  • Required: Strong familiarity with relational database management systems (RDBMS). 
  • Required: Advanced data manipulation skills in Microsoft Excel. 
  • Advertising campaign management/buying platforms (e.g., Google Campaign Manager, SA360, DV360, Google Ads, Sizmek, social media ad platforms). 
  • Business Intelligence tools (e.g., Tableau, PowerBI, Datorama, Looker). 
  • Project/product management tools (e.g., Smartsheets, Azure DevOps). 
  • A plus: 
  • Familiarity with programming languages such as Python or R. 
  • Experience with VBA/macros in Excel. 

 Soft Skills and Competencies: 

  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze complex data issues and devise effective solutions. 
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to act as a liaison between technical and non-technical teams. 
  • Exceptional organizational skills to effectively manage a high volume of tasks across multiple projects and stakeholders. 
  • A proactive and independent mindset, capable of driving projects forward and resolving roadblocks.
