Role Summary and Impact
As an OOH Media Manager, you will be instrumental in developing and executing innovative Out-of-Home media strategies that drive client success. You will leverage deep market insights, advanced planning tools, and strong client relationships to deliver impactful campaigns across traditional and Digital OOH (DOOH) platforms.
1. Strategic Thinking & Planning:
- Continuously monitor and analyze Turkish and global OOH market dynamics, industry data (e.g., Adex, RD Medya Yatırım), and emerging trends (especially DOOH advancements and measurement methodologies) to formulate strategic insights.
- Thoroughly evaluate client briefs to develop creative, data-driven OOH media strategies and plans aligned with target audience analysis and campaign objectives.
- Demonstrate leadership in OOH market share, media spend analysis, and overall budget management to ensure optimal utilization of brand budgets.
- Make strategic media selection decisions considering critical factors such as location, demographics, traffic data, and brand objectives, ensuring client satisfaction.
- Forecast, model, and report on OOH campaign performance metrics including reach, frequency, and visibility.
- Utilize advanced tools like "Locator tool" effectively for location-based billboard/unit selection and optimization.
- Develop specialized strategies for specific brand objectives such as rapid awareness, product launches, or sales-driven campaigns, integrating creativity into strategy (e.g., city-specific dynamic content, interactive DOOH applications).
2. OOH Market & Media Expertise:
- Possess in-depth knowledge and practical application of all OOH media types including Billboard, CLP, Megaboard, and Digital Screens (DOOH), understanding their features, advantages, disadvantages, and suitability for various campaign objectives.
- Be proficient in verifying media ownership with relevant documentation (e.g., permits, contracts).
- Create optimized, innovative media mixes that achieve maximum visibility and impact even under limited budget conditions, providing expert consultation to clients.
- Analyze competitor OOH activities to develop strategies that provide competitive advantages and integrate them into campaign plans.
- Proactively leverage the flexibility, dynamism, and cost advantages of Digital OOH (DOOH) media to develop integrated campaign strategies, tracking innovations in this field with a target of up to 40% DOOH utilization.
- Detail digital and classic OOH usage scenarios.
3. Operations Management & Quality Control:
- Meticulously manage the go-live processes of OOH campaigns, conducting final checks (e.g., poster, panel, wrap accuracy, location) and ensuring adherence to defined quality standards.
- Collaborate effectively with suppliers, build strong relationships, coordinate operational processes, and develop and implement proactive solutions for potential issues (e.g., delays, errors).
- Implement necessary internal and field control mechanisms to ensure the accuracy and transparency of campaign performance reports, presenting them to management.
- Respond quickly and effectively to errors arising during campaigns (e.g., incorrect poster, incomplete installation), generate solutions, manage client feedback, and coordinate corrective actions.
- Prepare detailed post-campaign performance evaluation reports, identifying and presenting lessons learned and areas for improvement.
4. Client Management & Communication:
- Build strong, trust-based, and long-lasting relationships with clients, deeply understanding their business objectives and providing strategic consultancy.
- Manage and persuade clients regarding strategically unsuitable requests by offering alternative and more effective solutions in a constructive and professional manner.
- Effectively convey campaign strategies, plans, and results clearly, understandably, and impressively using persuasive presentation skills.
- Proactively communicate to obtain accurate and complete information in cases of incomplete or vague client briefs, guiding the client appropriately.
- Foster collaboration by establishing effective and professional communication with diverse stakeholders, including clients, internal teams, and suppliers, adapting tone as needed.
- Manage challenging client requests or crises with composure and a solution-oriented approach, addressing potential dissatisfaction.
5. Commercial Acumen & Budget Management:
- Develop detailed OOH campaign budgets, meticulously calculating all cost items (e.g., media rental, production, installation, operational costs), and performing budget tracking.
- Offer cost-effective optimizations and creative budget solutions that maintain campaign impact when client budgets are limited, and commercially advocate for these solutions.
- Deeply understand the variables influencing media pricing (e.g., location value, duration, format, demand intensity, seasonality, region/location prioritization criteria) and conduct effective negotiations to secure the best commercial terms.
- Optimize the balance between budget and performance to ensure campaigns achieve commercial objectives and defined Return on Investment (ROI) expectations.
6. Problem Solving & Continuous Improvement:
- Respond to client complaints such as "failure to achieve expected visibility" or operational issues during or after campaigns with a swift, analytical, and solution-oriented approach.
- Ask the right questions to understand the root causes of problems, manage detailed internal and field control processes, and generate data-driven solutions.
- Generate fast and effective solutions to identified problems, maintaining the highest level of client satisfaction.
- Provide clients with a transparent and clear report or summary after problem resolution, detailing lessons learned and actions taken from the situation.
- Develop preventive measures and continuous improvement processes to avoid recurrence of similar situations in the future, integrating them into internal procedures.
Skills and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in communications, Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum 4-6 years of experience in a similar Manager or Senior Specialist role within a media agency or the OOH media sector.
- In-depth knowledge and expertise in OOH market dynamics, media types, legal ownership verification, and measurement metrics.
- Strong understanding of Digital OOH (DOOH) technologies, trends, and potential, with strategic insights on achieving up to 40% DOOH utilization.
- Excellent analytical thinking, problem-solving, and strategic planning skills.
- Advanced verbal and written communication, presentation, and persuasion skills.
- Strong clients focus and relationship management skills.
- Detail-oriented, organized, proficient in time management, and capable of multi-tasking.
- Experience in supplier management and effective negotiation.
- Team management or mentorship experience is a plus.
- Advanced proficiency in MS Office (especially Excel and PowerPoint).
- Proficiency in English is preferred.
