Role Summary and Impact

WPP Media Hong Kong is seeking a seasoned and delivery-focused Senior Manager, Data & Tech to join our Data & Technology team. This role is pivotal in bridging business requirements with technical execution for our clients' Martech and analytics projects. You will be responsible for managing the end-to-end project lifecycle, overseeing stakeholder communication between clients and internal teams, and ensuring the timely delivery of high-quality data solutions. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background, an entrepreneur mindset, and the ability to manage multiple complex projects in a dynamic, multi-cultural environment.

 

Core Responsibilities:

Project Leadership & Management: Lead the full lifecycle of large-scale Martech projects, including Analytics, BI, and Data Science, from initial requirement gathering through to final delivery and implementation.

Stakeholder Engagement & Collaboration: Build strong relationships and serve as the key liaison between internal teams and external partners in translating clients’ business objectives into clear technical requirements and ensuring seamless communication and project alignment for all parties.

Technical Consultation & Guidance: Act as a subject matter expert, providing data and technology consultation to both clients and internal teams, developing and presenting strategic technical proposals to solve business challenges, establishing best practices and providing technical oversight to ensure high quality deliverables.

Business Growth: Support the new business pitches process, helping to shape our data and technology offerings and presenting our capabilities to prospective clients.

Strategic Innovation: Stay ahead of industry trends to develop new and improved data solutions for our clients, particularly in areas that measure marketing effectiveness and improve customer insights such as server-side tracking, first-party data onboarding, BI architecture, Marketing Mix Modelling (MMM), and incrementality analysis.

Operational Excellence: Refine our internal processes to ensure work efficiency and effectiveness, delivering consistently high-quality results as we grow.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • 7+ years of experience in a data-centric role (e.g., data analytics, martech, data science), with at least 3 years in a role leading projects and managing client relationships.
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Data Analytics, Mathematics, or a related technical field.
  • Advanced knowledge of web analytics platforms, such as Google Analytics and Adobe Analytics, and tag management systems like Google Tag Manager.
  • Strong technical understanding of SQL and data warehousing platforms (e.g., BigQuery, AWS).
  • Familiarity with BI and data visualization tools such as Tableau, PowerBI, or Looker.
  • Deep understanding of the digital media landscape, including PPC, Display, Programmatic, and Paid Social.
  • Knowledge of modern tracking techniques (e.g., server-side tracking, MMPs) and global data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA).
  • Strong strategic and analytical skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex technical challenges independently.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Fluent in written and spoken English and Cantonese.

 

 

Desired Skills & Experience:

  • Experience with Martech solutions related to first-party data utilization, A/B testing, and audience activation.
  • Experience working with agile/scrum project management methodologies.
  • Experience working in leading media agency or consulting firm.
