Role Summary and Impact
The Total Search Practice Senior Director, LATAM will lead the strategic growth and evolution of WPP Media’s Total Search practice across the region. This role oversees Paid Search, Organic Search, and Generative Engine Optimisation (GEO), driving innovation, commercial performance, and AI-powered search transformation across agencies and clients. The role is responsible for positioning brands to succeed in an evolving search landscape shaped by LLMs and generative engines such as ChatGPT, Gemini, and Perplexity.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the regional Total Search strategy across Paid Search, SEO, and GEO, ensuring strong commercial performance, product adoption, and operational excellence.
- Drive growth opportunities, client engagement, and strategic pitches, acting as the senior search leader for key regional opportunities.
- Build integrated search solutions that connect media, commerce, content, and AI-driven discovery strategies.
- Develop market-leading GEO capabilities to improve brand visibility, authority, and recommendation rates across generative engines.
- Establish best practices, governance, automation, and training programs to scale high-quality delivery across LATAM markets.
- Provide thought leadership on the future of search and AI, representing WPP Media with clients, partners, and industry forums.
- Lead, coach, and develop high-performing multidisciplinary teams while strengthening collaboration across WPP agencies and strategic partners.
Skills and Experience
If this opportunity looks right for you, we are looking for candidates who have:
- 10+ years of experience in Search Marketing, including Paid Search and SEO, with a strong track record of business growth and innovation.
- Strong commercial acumen, including experience building search solutions, driving revenue growth, and managing complex client portfolios.
- Deep understanding of AI, Large Language Models (LLMs), Generative Engines, and the future of search behavior.
- Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills within matrixed and cross-functional environments.
- Executive presence with experience supporting strategic pitches and engaging senior client stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to translate emerging trends into scalable business solutions.
- Fluent in collaborating across global organizations, agency ecosystems, and key technology partners such as Google and Microsoft.
