Role Summary and Impact
In this role, your key responsibilities and goals will be:

  • Compliance Reporting: Review, administer, and ensure timely submission of quarterly, half-yearly, and annual Compliance reports in alignment with Regional Risk and Control deadlines
  • Framework Mastery: Maintain strong familiarity with WPP and WPP Media Compliance policies and the WPP Risk and Control Matrix (RCM), with a comprehensive understanding of the Internal Control Over Financial Reporting (ICFR) framework
  • Process Optimization: Scrutinize and refine internal Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), authorization matrices, local policies, and control processes to ensure continuous effectiveness and relevance, reporting findings and recommendations to the Regional Risk & Control Director and CFO
  • Audit Coordination: Serve as the central coordinator for local ICFR and Internal audits, facilitating seamless progress and successful outcomes
  • Remediation Management: Review and assess remediation actions arising from Internal and External audit findings, ensuring appropriate and effective management responses
  • Advisory & Support: Act as a trusted point of contact for internal stakeholders on compliance queries, providing clear guidance on policies, procedures, and processes
  • Training & Culture: Develop and deliver engaging training sessions on WPP policies to drive compliance awareness and build a strong compliance culture across the organization
  • Governance Projects: Lead workshops and projects to continuously strengthen the overall governance framework

Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree or above in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related discipline
  • Minimum 4–5 years of relevant experience in risk, control, or compliance functions, with a strong background in SOX compliance; prior experience in an audit firm is a distinct advantage
  • Solid understanding of internal controls, ICFR frameworks, and audit processes
  • Strong command of English, both written and verbal, with the ability to communicate complex compliance matters clearly and concisely to diverse stakeholders
  • Proven ability to work independently with a high level of initiative, self motivation, and ownership
  • Excellent interpersonal and influencing skills, with a collaborative and approachable style that builds trust across all levels of the organization
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, able to identify risks and recommend practical solutions
  • Comfortable managing multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced, matrixed environment
