The Opportunity: We are seeking a strategic and analytically-minded Manager, Media Planning (APAC) to lead comprehensive media planning and strategy development for a key enterprise client across the Asia-Pacific region. Based in our Jakarta office, you will be instrumental in translating complex client objectives into innovative, data-driven media strategies that resonate across diverse APAC markets.

This role requires a deep understanding of the APAC media landscape, strong strategic thinking, proficiency in identifying and leveraging various media channels (including Google, Apple, and Social platforms), and exceptional client communication skills. You will be responsible for identifying the optimal channel mix, audience targeting approaches, and budget allocations to maximize impact and ROI for our client throughout the region.

Key Responsibilities:

APAC Media Strategy & Planning Leadership:

  • Develop and champion comprehensive, data-driven media strategies for a key enterprise client across the entire APAC region, aligning with specific client business objectives
  • Conduct in-depth analysis of market trends, consumer behavior, and competitive landscape across various APAC countries to inform strategic recommendations.
  • Define optimal media mix, audience targeting approaches, budget allocations, and flighting strategies tailored to the unique characteristics and goals of each market within APAC.
  • Own the development and management of the market-specific test plan and learning agenda for the enterprise client, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and regional innovation.
  • Plan and drive tests and learning initiatives across the region.
  • Possess the ability to develop accurate forecasted performance for APAC campaigns and then strategically achieve those targets against defined client KPIs.

Multi-Platform Channel Expertise & Integration:

  • Design integrated media plans that leverage a comprehensive understanding of how to activate effectively across a diverse range of digital platforms, including:
    • Google (Search, Display, YouTube, App Campaigns)
    • Apple Search Ads (ASA)
    • Key Social Media Ad Platforms (e.g., Meta - Facebook/Instagram, TikTok, X/Twitter, and local platforms relevant to APAC markets)
  • Collaborate closely with internal activation teams (e.g., Search, Social, Programmatic specialists) and client stakeholders to ensure seamless translation of media plans into execution.
  • Provide strategic guidance on channel selection, audience targeting, ad formats, and measurement for each platform based on market nuances and client objectives.

Performance Forecasting & Measurement Framework:

  • Establish robust measurement frameworks and define key performance indicators (KPIs) for all APAC media campaigns, ensuring alignment with client objectives.
  • Work closely with data and analytics teams to ensure proper tracking, reporting, and attribution models are in place across the region.
  • Conduct regular performance analysis against initial forecasts, identifying trends, opportunities, and areas for strategic reallocation of budgets to ensure targets are met or exceeded.
  • Provide strategic inputs and comprehensive data analysis for campaign wrap-up reports across APAC, summarizing performance, key learnings, and future recommendations.

Client Management & Collaboration (Enterprise & APAC Focus):

  • Serve as a primary strategic point of contact for clients regarding the campaign lifecycle across APAC, building strong, trusted relationships.
  • Present complex media strategies, performance insights, and market trends clearly and concisely to client teams (potentially across multiple markets/functions).
  • Collaborate extensively with internal account management, creative, activation, and analytics teams to ensure integrated strategies and seamless execution across the region.
  • Provide thoughtful, strategic campaign summaries and post-mortems for clients, translating complex data into clear, actionable business insights.

APAC Market Intelligence & Innovation:

  • Stay abreast of the latest digital advertising trends, platform features, regulatory changes, and competitive activities within the dynamic APAC digital landscape.
  • Proactively identify and recommend new media channels, technologies, and innovative approaches that can benefit clients’ objectives in specific APAC markets.
  • Stay informed on advertising trends, privacy regulations, and their impact on campaign effectiveness and measurement across the region.

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of progressive experience in media planning or digital strategy, with a strong focus on multi-market campaigns within APAC.
  • Proven experience planning for enterprise-level clients, demonstrating the ability to manage complex needs and large-scale budgets.
  • Business-level fluency in English (verbal and written).
  • Demonstrated expertise in strategic planning and channel integration across diverse digital platforms, including:
    • Google (Search, Display, YouTube, App Campaigns)
    • Apple Ads
    • Key Social Media Ad Platforms (e.g., Meta - Facebook/Instagram, TikTok,etc., with understanding of regional nuances)
  • Strong understanding of platform functionalities, audience targeting capabilities, and bidding strategies across these channels.
  • Understanding of the app ecosystem, including app store optimization (ASO) principles, mobile measurement partners (MMPs), and in-app event tracking and optimization.
  • Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex market data, identify trends, and derive actionable insights for strategic planning and optimization.
  • Proven experience with designing and managing comprehensive test & learn agendas for media campaigns.
  • Outstanding communication, presentation, and client-facing skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate with diverse stakeholders both internally and externally across cultures.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with specific APAC media planning tools or syndicated research platforms.
  • Familiarity with local data privacy laws and advertising regulations across key APAC markets.
  • Experience working in a global agency network for international clients.
