WPP Media is a single client centric company with a portfolio of go to market brands. Wavemaker, EssenceMediacom, Mindshare and T&P are our agency teams, these house multiple local and global clients.  In addition, we have a number of client specific brands built to service specific clients. These include OpenDoor (Amazon), MFG (Google), OpenMind (Nestle), OpenConnect (BT/EE) and Media Futures Group (Google).  All of these teams are supported by consistent capabilities, enterprise level tools and systems and our market leading OPEN platform.   

 

Role Summary and Impact
The Manager is a key role within WPP Media, responsible for supporting a defined area of the business and ensuring operational excellence through effective planning, coordination and delivery. They translate functional priorities into practical action, driving adoption of strategic partner capabilities through the successful execution of enablement programmes, communications and engagement initiatives. This role plays an important part in connecting partner innovation with client and agency needs, helping maximise the value delivered through WPP Media's partner ecosystem.

 

Capability Description

As the Manager, Strategic Partnerships – Agency & Client Enablement, you will support the delivery of programmes that help agency and client teams understand, access and activate the capabilities of WPP Media's strategic partners. Working across media, technology and data partners, you will help translate partner innovation into practical tools, communications and learning experiences that support client and business growth.

This role will focus on the execution of enablement activity, including communications, training programmes, capability resources, events and stakeholder engagement initiatives. Working closely with agency, client, product, commercial and partnership teams, you will help increase awareness, understanding and utilisation of partner capabilities across the business, ensuring teams have access to the information, resources and support they need to succeed.

You will play a key role in delivering WPP Media's partner enablement strategy, coordinating programmes, maintaining enablement resources, tracking adoption and helping to create a consistent experience for agency and client teams. The role requires strong organisation, attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple workstreams while building strong relationships across a broad stakeholder group.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Agency and Client Enablement

Enablement Programme Delivery

  • Deliver enablement programmes for a defined portfolio of strategic partners and capabilities across WPP Media.
  • Execute communications, learning programmes, training initiatives and engagement activities that support adoption of partner capabilities.
  • Coordinate delivery plans, timelines and milestones, ensuring agreed activity is completed on schedule.
  • Support the delivery of annual enablement plans and strategic initiatives set by the Director.

Communications and Content Development

  • Develop partner-facing content, communications and engagement materials that showcase the capabilities, priorities and strategic initiatives of WPP Media.
  • Create and maintain enablement resources including presentations, playbooks, guides, newsletters, capability documentation and training materials.
  • Translate complex partner capabilities into simple, engaging and actionable content for agency and client teams.
  • Support the development and distribution of internal communications that increase awareness and understanding of partner capabilities.
  • Ensure materials remain accurate, relevant and aligned with business priorities.

Events, Learning and engagement

  • Support the planning and delivery of workshops, webinars, roadshows, training sessions and partner events.
  • Coordinate accreditation programmes and learning initiatives designed to increase adoption and capability understanding.
  • Manage stakeholder communications, attendance, logistics and follow-up actions across enablement activities.
  • Support engagement initiatives that encourage knowledge sharing and best practice to help optimise client outcomes.

Stakeholder Coordination

  • Build strong working relationships across agency, client, product, commercial and partnership teams.
  • Act as a central point of coordination for assigned enablement initiatives, ensuring stakeholders remain informed and aligned.
  • Support agency teams in accessing relevant partner resources, training and support.
  • Gather feedback from stakeholders and help identify opportunities to improve enablement programmes and user experience.

Adoption Reporting and Operational Excellence

·       Maintain reporting and dashboards that track engagement, adoption and utilisation across partner programmes.

·       Monitor programme performance and provide regular updates on activity, progress and outcomes.

  • Capture and share case studies, success stories and examples of best practice from across the business.
  • Support governance, action tracking and programme administration across the wider Strategic Partnerships function.
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes, simplify ways of working and enhance programme effectiveness.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Experience in enablement, client leadership, planning, strategy, partnerships, marketing, capability development or client-facing roles within media, advertising or technology sectors.
  • Strong understanding of how agencies operate and how media, technology and platform capabilities are brought to market.
  • Experience delivering cross-functional programmes, communications, learning initiatives or adoption-focused projects across multiple stakeholder groups.
  • Excellent organisational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines and stakeholders simultaneously.
  • Strong communication, presentation and storytelling skills, with the ability to translate complex concepts into clear, compelling and actionable narratives for different audiences.
  • Experience creating engaging communications, training materials, playbooks, events or enablement resources that drive awareness, engagement and adoption.
  • Commercial awareness and an understanding of how partner capabilities create value for clients and the wider business.
  • Strong relationship management skills with the ability to work effectively across internal and external stakeholders.
  • A proactive self-starter who can build relationships, drive momentum and collaborate effectively across stakeholders with differing priorities.
  • Experience supporting programmes that drive engagement, adoption or behavioural change across complex organisations.
  • Experience working with media partners, technology platforms, data providers or strategic partners would be beneficial.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work and experiences.
  • Curious, adaptable and comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment, with an interest in media, technology, AI and emerging industry trends.
  • Comfortable operating within established frameworks while identifying opportunities to improve processes, programmes and outcomes.

Measures of Success

Within 6 Months: Gain a comprehensive understanding of WPP Media and the Strategic Partnerships function, with a clear understanding of how Vision '30 connects to your day to day responsibilities.
Develop a strong understanding of the agency teams , strategic partners and the capabilities across the partner ecosystem, both existing and emerging. Build effective relationships with key stakeholders across the business and establish yourself as a trusted and proactive partner. Demonstrate successful delivery of enablement programmes, communications and engagement initiatives, while identifying opportunities to improve processes, increase adoption and enhance the experience for agency and client teams. A key measurable is that you will have
established strong stakeholder relationships and successfully delivered enablement programmes, communications and engagement initiatives that support awareness and adoption of partner capabilities. And begin to develop processes which leverage data/AI thinking, where relevant.

Within 12 Months:
Demonstrate consistent delivery of high-quality enablement programmes, communications and engagement initiatives, contributing to increased awareness, understanding and adoption of strategic partner capabilities across WPP Media. Receive positive feedback from internal and external stakeholders on the quality of coordination, execution and stakeholder support, alongside positive feedback on your contribution to WPP Media and Vision '30. You will have contributed to improvements in ways of working, supported stronger activation of partner capabilities and helped drive client growth, partner engagement and new business opportunities. Maintain strong stakeholder confidence and be recognised as a trusted and collaborative contributor to the success of the Strategic Partnerships function.
