Role Summary and Impact
We are looking for a top-level professional to take on the role of Senior Director, WPP Media Solutions. This senior figure will hold strategic and executive responsibility for driving the development, innovation, and widespread adoption of WPP Media's proprietary product offering. The ideal candidate is a visionary yet pragmatic leader, capable of combining deep expertise in media, data, and ad-tech with a strong commercial and business development mindset. They will work closely with WPP Media network brands to ensure that the solutions developed effectively address client business challenges.
Skills and Experience
- Lead the vision and product/service roadmap of WPP Media Solutions, adapting the international proposition to the Italian market and anticipating market trends (e.g. Retail Media, AI applied to media, Data Clean Rooms, Addressable TV, Digital Out-of-Home, integrated channel planning) and brand needs.
- Define and execute the go-to-market and roll-out strategy for all solutions, ensuring large-scale adoption across network brands.
- Demonstrate flexibility and the ability to operate effectively within a matrix organization, building strong relationships with multiple stakeholders and leaders across WPP Media teams to create synergies, while maintaining constant alignment with the international network and sharing best practices.
- Proactively engage with clients, media owners, and key local market stakeholders, acting as an authoritative reference point and ambassador for WPP Media's innovation offering.
- Attract, lead, and inspire a multidisciplinary team of experts (product, data, tech, commercial), fostering a company culture built on excellence, collaboration, and agility.
- Monitor and drive the performance of the WPP Media Solutions area, setting appropriate commercial strategies and ensuring the achievement of growth and margin objectives.
- 10-15+ years of proven experience in Media, Advertising Technology, or with major publishers/media owners, with a track record of fast-growing managerial and commercial leadership roles.
- Deep and up-to-date knowledge of the omnichannel media ecosystem, programmatic platforms, data utilization dynamics, and measurement and attribution technologies.
- Solid experience in new business development and building complex sales pipelines, with the ability to translate technological solutions into clear value propositions for clients.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to influence business decisions at the highest levels and orchestrate cross-functional teams without necessarily having direct hierarchical authority over all stakeholders involved.
- Fluent English is essential for constant interaction with WPP global and regional teams.
