Chief Strategy Officer at WPP Media

As Chief Strategy Officer, you will lead WPP Media Denmark’s Strategy & Marketing agenda and set the strategic direction for the agency’s market positioning, growth priorities, innovation agenda, and future capability development.

You will act as executive owner of the integrated strategy and innovation agenda, partnering closely with the CEO and Executive Leadership Team to translate business ambition into clear priorities, scalable propositions, and measurable commercial outcomes.

You will build strong client and industry relationships, strengthen WPP Media’s position as a strategic growth partner, and create the conditions for high-quality strategic work across disciplines, talent, standards, and technology.

Key responsibilities

This is a senior leadership role for someone who can combine commercial impact, strategic excellence, and organizational transformation. Your primary responsibilities will be to;

• Set the vision, priorities, and operating agenda for Strategy & Marketing, aligned with WPP Media Denmark’s overall business strategy.
• Define and drive the growth strategy for WPP Media Denmark, including market opportunities, competitive advantages, future business models, and diversification of services.
• Own the strategic contribution to growth across net new business, retention, organic growth, pitch strategy, and development of new revenue streams.
• Act as executive sponsor and senior strategic partner for priority clients, pitches, and complex transformation opportunities.
• Lead market positioning, thought leadership, and key external relationships that strengthen WPP Media’s reputation and commercial opportunity.
• Champion the adoption of AI, WPP technology, WPP Open, and standardized frameworks to improve quality, speed, scalability, and differentiation.
• Drive collaboration across Client, Content, Data & Technology, Activation, Operations, and Marketing to deliver connected client solutions and enterprise-wide impact.
• Build and develop a high-performing team of senior strategy, growth, transformation, and marketing leaders, ensuring accountability, collaboration, talent development, and a strong succession pipeline.

About you

We believe you are an experienced senior strategy and growth leader with a strong track record from media, marketing, communications, consulting, technology, or a related professional services environment. You have operated at executive level, led senior leaders and multi-disciplinary teams, and influenced business direction beyond your own function.

To succeed in this role, you need strong leadership skills, commercial acumen, excellent communication and presentation skills, and deep understanding of how media, data, technology, content, transformation, and client growth come together. You are motivated by building capability, developing people, shaping culture, and driving strategic transformation at scale.

More specifically, you have

• A proven ability to drive revenue growth, service diversification, client development, and new business performance.
• Strong knowledge of media, communications, data, technology, AI, and the evolving client growth agenda.
• Experience building and leading high-performing senior teams across strategy, growth, transformation, marketing, or related disciplines.
• The ability to establish best practice frameworks, methodologies, planning standards, and capability-building programs.
• Excellent senior stakeholder management, client relationship, communication, and presentation skills.
• Visible leadership style with strong judgment, accountability, collaboration skills, and the ability to develop future leaders and succession pipelines.
