Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Google Cloud Platform (GCP) Engineer to join our dynamic team. You will play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and managing complex cloud solutions for our clients. This role requires deep expertise in GCP services, migration strategies, Cloud infrastructure and networking, DevOps practices, data management, security, infrastructure as code (Terraform), and container orchestration (Kubernetes).

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement scalable, secure, reliable and automated cloud architectures on GCP, focusing on migrations, infrastructure and networking, DevOps, data, Terraform, and Kubernetes.
  • Plan and execute cloud migration projects from on-premises environments or other cloud providers, collocations and on premise environments to GCP.
  • Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure as code using Terraform and GitHub Actions.
  • Manage and optimize Kubernetes clusters (GKE) for containerized applications.
  • Design and implement data solutions using GCP services such as BigQuery, Looker, Looker Studio, Dataflow, and Dataproc.
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to junior engineers.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues related to GCP environments.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and deliver solutions that meet business needs.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest GCP offerings, features, and best practices.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation and runbooks.
  • Integrate clear logging and monitoring of resources and environments for accountability and compliance/retention requirements of clients.

Required Skills

  • Extensive experience in designing and implementing solutions on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
  • Proven experience with cloud migration strategies and execution.
  • Strong expertise in DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines and automation.
  • Hands-on experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) using Terraform.
  • Deep understanding and practical experience with Kubernetes and containerization technologies (Docker).
  • Experience with data management and analytics on GCP, including BigQuery, Looker, Looker Studio, Dataflow, and Dataproc.
  • Excellent OS troubleshooting skill set (Windows, Linux, Chrome macOS).
  • Deep understanding of Windows Active Directory and Group Policy.
  • Experience with orchestration and configuration management tools such as Ansible, Puppet, Terraform, Chef, etc.
  • Working knowledge of serverless and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, etc.).
  • Skilled at the management and performance monitoring of managed and unmanaged databases (MySQL, postGres, MSSQL, CloudSQL, BigQuery).
  • Familiarity with 3rd party performance monitoring tools such as Datadog, CloudHealth, New Relic, Logic Monitor.
  • Extensive experience and thorough understanding of IAM roles and permissions and granular security controls.
  • Deployment experience using GCP native services such as Google Cloud Deployment Manager, Cloud Run, VM Manager, OS Config.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to analyze logs, diagnose problems, and implement solutions.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of cloud security best practices and experience implementing security measures in cloud environments.
  • Familiarity with scripting and automation (e.g., Python, Shell, Git, Bash) for tasks like infrastructure provisioning and maintenance.
  • Experience with DevOps practices and tools for infrastructure as code, continuous integration, and continuous deployment.
  • Ability to work well both independently and in a team, with a strong sense of responsibility and accountability.
  • Google Workspace Administration experience is a plus.

Education

  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, related technical field, or equivalent experience.

Certifications

One of the below certifications is required:

  • Google Associate Cloud Engineer.
  • Google Certified Professional - Network Engineer.
  • Google Certified Professional - Cloud Architect.
  • Google Certified Professional - Security Engineer.
  • Google Certified Professional - DevOps Engineer.
  • Google Certified Professional - Data Engineer.

Google Workspace Administrator Certification is a plus.
