About the role

We’re seeking exceptional Data Scientists to join a high-priority project that brings xAI’s cutting-edge expertise to a platform used by approximately 600 million monthly users. As a data scientist on the ads team, you will have the unique opportunity to influence our top-line revenue with your insights, innovations, and experiences.

What You'll Do

  • Develop key metrics for a profound understanding of the performance of our ad product line and the impact they have on users.
  • Build and maintain essential datasets, dashboards, and reporting services, serving as the source of truth for our performance indicators.
  • Provide data and analysis support for product A/B tests, playing a pivotal role in data-driven decision-making for product changes.
  • Analyze data and build analytical tools to gain insights into ad campaign performance to showcase the value of our platform to advertisers.
  • Collaborate with engineers and sales, offering data and analytical support to enhance product development.

Who You Are

  • Master, Post-graduate or PhD in statistics, mathematics, computer science, machine learning, information retrieval, engineering, operations research, or other quantitative discipline; or equivalent work experience.
  • 3+ years of industry experience working with large scale data pipelines, end-to-end data science solutions, and customer behavior analytics (we are hiring all levels DS II or above).
  • Expertise solving complex and highly impactful business problems through quantitative approaches (statistical / machine learning models) with at least one programming language (Python, Scala, etc), and data manipulation tools including SQL and Spark.
  • Ability to create/improve analytics tools or reproducible analysis libraries.
  • Industrial experience with ads product and metrics highly preferred.

Interview Process

After submitting your application, the team reviews your CV and statement of exceptional work. If your application passes this stage, you will be invited to a 15 minute phone interview, during which a member of our team will ask technical questions. If you clear the phone interview, you will proceed to next steps:

  1. Coding assessment in a language of your choice.
  2. Date Science fundamentals: assessment on your understanding of modern data science analysis methods.
  3. Applied Data Science: design a solution to a particular business analytics problem.
  4. Project deep-dive: Present your past exceptional work to a small audience.
  5. Meet and greet with the wider team.

Our goal is to finish the main process within one week.

Location

The role is based in Palo Alto. Candidates are expected to be located near the Bay Area or open to relocation.

Annual Salary Range

$180,000 - $440,000 USD
