About the Role

As a member of xAI’s Receiving & Logistics team, the Receiving and Logistics Lead will oversee the operations of tracking, recording, and directing the flow of incoming and outgoing equipment at our Memphis data center. This role is on-site, where you would lead a world-class team to deliver exceptional outcomes on short timelines. The Receiving and Logistics Lead will manage the team responsible for receiving, inspecting, and recording goods, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in all logistics processes. You will coordinate with suppliers, shippers, and internal teams to maintain seamless operations and support xAI’s mission to advance human scientific discovery through reliable and efficient logistics systems.

Responsibilities

  • Team Leadership: Manage and mentor a team of Receiving and Logistics Clerks, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations to ensure high-quality work and professional development.

  • Operational Oversight: Oversee the receipt, inspection, recording, and verification of incoming goods, ensuring alignment with documentation and accuracy in inventory records.

  • Process Optimization: Develop and implement efficient logistics workflows, streamlining processes to minimize delays and improve operational performance.

  • Coordination: Collaborate with suppliers, shippers, and internal stakeholders to ensure timely and accurate delivery of equipment and materials.

  • Inventory Management: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of items received and shipped, utilizing proprietary software to track inventory and logistics data.

  • Issue Resolution: Address and resolve discrepancies or issues related to incoming or outgoing goods, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.

  • Compliance: Ensure all logistics activities comply with safety, regulatory, and company standards, maintaining a safe and organized work environment.

  • Reporting: Provide regular updates and reports to management on logistics performance, inventory status, and team productivity.

  • Strategic Planning: Contribute to the strategic planning of logistics operations, identifying opportunities for improvement and scalability to support xAI’s growth.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain management, business administration, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

  • 3+ years of experience in logistics, receiving, or supply chain operations, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or leadership role.

  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with a proven ability to manage complex workflows and tight deadlines.

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to coordinate with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Proficiency in inventory management software and Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Ability to work on-site at the Memphis data center.

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • 5+ years of experience in logistics or supply chain management, preferably in a high-tech or data center environment.

  • Experience with proprietary logistics or inventory management systems.

  • Knowledge of lean logistics principles or process improvement methodologies (e.g., Six Sigma, Kaizen).

  • Familiarity with safety and compliance regulations in logistics and warehousing.

  • Proven track record of leading teams to achieve operational excellence in a fast-paced environment.

Additional Requirements

  • Ability to lift and move equipment up to 50 pounds as needed.

  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including occasional evenings or weekends, to meet operational demands.

  • This is a full-time, on-site position based in Memphis, TN.
