Position Overview
As a High Throughput Lab Scientist, you will utilize your expertise in antibody discovery, production and characterization to interface with the lab automation team to develop and execute workflows. These workflows will include antibody expression, purification and QC in a high throughput manner. You will work closely with the automation team and downstream users to operate lab automation and analytical instruments to deliver high quality material that fits users needs. You will be responsible for regularly delivering purified proteins in large batches as well as playing a critical role in optimizing the molecular production and QC pipeline to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and throughput. Additionally, automate various aspects of phage/yeast display and clonal screening. Your contributions will be essential in advancing our capabilities in drug development.
Key Responsibilities
- Optimize and execute existing protein production processes to improve efficiency, scalability, and reliability, ensuring high-quality outcomes.
- Optimize and execute existing molecular biology workflow to enable protein production
- Develop and execute HTP display workflow with phage and/or yeast.
- Operate integrated lab automation workcells with liquid handlers to produce, purify and analyze proteins at high throughput.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams of biologists, protein engineers, and data scientists to gather and analyze requirements for process automation and optimization.
- Troubleshoot, maintain, and document molecular production and analytical workflows, providing technical support and expertise to ensure continuous operation.
- Document and communicate automation strategies, SOPs/protocols, and outcomes, contributing to knowledge sharing and best practices within the company.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Biotechnology, or a related field; PhD is a plus.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in antibody production and cell culture in industry.
- Strong background in antibody characterization (aSEC, CE-SDS, etc). Experience in assay development is a plus.
- Familiarity with laboratory information management system (LIMS) and electronic laboratory notebook (ELN).
- Knowledge in operating automated liquid handlers. Automation workcell operation experience is a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in interdisciplinary teams and communicate complex technical information to non-experts.
- Creative problem-solving skills and a passion for innovation in biotechnology and drug development.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and project management skills.
Compensation

A Summary of Benefits is available for all applicants. The base pay range for this position is expected to be $135,000 - $168,000 annually; however, the base pay offered may vary depending on the market, job-related knowledge, skills and capabilities, and experience.
