Operations Finance Partner (Fixed Term Contract - 5 months)

This important role working across the range of our business is to increase project operations, enhance efficiency and ensure the seamless execution of projects by collaborating with our delivery teams.

You will use data and reports to ensure all projects are initiated correctly (from a systems and tools POV) and identify areas for improvement within execution and ongoing financial health. You will review and provide guidance on an event project level to support delivery teams to ensure delivery and commercial excellence processes are applied throughout the meeting and events project life cycle.

What will you do …

Early stage budget reviews:

Approve all client budgets before client presentation based on baseline economic targets set across the business. Provide guidance to budget owners to improve the economic health of projects

Project initiation:

Review of systems and data to ensure projects are starting correctly:

  • Systems / tools active and in place – Smartsheet, Procim, Box and Hubspot
  • Ensuring delivery and completion dates are valid
  • Time tracking versus planning time left on project
  • Margins on target / identify any areas that need improvement before kick off
  • Continuous improvement:
  • Periodically review systems and data to identify any areas of improvement whilst in production:
  • Identify any areas to evolve use of tools or systems
  • Identify any areas to improve financial health/ any deviation from expected margins
  • Supporting teams with cashflow process – billing stages and PO's are correct

 

Project Reconciliation:

Review and support teams at project reconciliation stage and ensure projects close out following processes

 

General user support/ training:

Support with new starter onboarding with processes and team refreshers

What do you need to have …

  • Previous experience working in a commercial finance or finance operations role
  • Ahigh level of commercial knowledge and ability to work across complex budgets
  • Ability to guide and coach individuals on processes and financial compliance
  • Previous experience using financial and project planning tools –Smartsheet and Box advantageous
