
Sustainability Project Manager
The Sustainability Project Manager is responsible for the practical delivery of EnviroPlan, Emota's award-winning sustainability methodology for events and exhibitions.
This is a hands-on, client-facing, delivery role, embedded within project teams, ensuring our sustainability principles are applied across every stage of delivery.
You'll be the link between creative, production, and client teams – making sure the right processes and data are in place to achieve measurable, credible sustainability outcomes
You will report into the Director of Operations
What will you do …
Project Delivery
- Apply EnviroPlan best practice throughout the project lifecycle
- Coordinate sustainability tools such as TRACE (carbon calculator) and BOSS (best practice dashboard)
- Track sustainability metrics and produce clear, client-ready reporting aligned to industry standards (e.g. ISO 20121, UN SDGs, GHG Protocol)
Internal Support & Coordination
- Help teams embed EnviroPlan methodology into briefs, pitches, and delivery plans
- Support with data gathering, carbon modelling, and benchmarking
- Maintain EnviroPlan templates and resources
Client Engagement
- Be the delivery-facing sustainability contact on assigned projects
- Provide sustainability narratives, data summaries, and updates for client meetings
- Ensure delivery aligns with each client's sustainability requirements and reporting needs
Training & Enablement
- Keep teams informed on changes in sustainability legislation and best practice
- Deliver onboarding and refresher sessions for delivery teams on EnviroPlan tools and processes
- Help improve internal tools, templates, and ways of working
What do you need to have …
- Experience managing projects within event delivery or production. (A bonus within events or experiential agency)
- Familiarity with sustainability principles and working knowledge of tools such as TRACE, BOSS, or similar
- Experience interpreting and presenting data in a clear, client-facing format (Excel, PowerPoint, dashboards)
- Experience managing multiple projects and deadlines
- Experience with carbon reporting frameworks or sustainability certifications
- Knowledge of material lifecycle assessment, or sustainable production techniques
