DevOps Engineer

Seattle, WA or West Coast

Our Mission & Culture

At Xealth, we're revolutionizing healthcare by leveraging data and automation to empower care providers (building on EHRs such as Epic and Cerner) to seamlessly prescribe, deliver, and monitor digital health for patients. We are a detail-oriented team, committed to maintaining the highest standards while moving with agility and impact.

We are a highly skilled, collaborative, and passionate group, applying our expertise to improve health outcomes for millions. We believe in shared ownership and are looking for a team player who is a self-starter and self-driven to pioneer the next generation of intelligent, automated cloud infrastructure.

This role offers a unique opportunity to build out a self-optimizing cloud platform in a mission-driven environment.

What You'll Own and Deliver (Responsibilities)

As a critical member of our engineering team, you will be the primary architect and champion for our platform's reliability, scalability, and security, with a strong focus on intelligent automation.

  • Intelligent Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Design, develop, and manage our dynamic AWS cloud infrastructure using Terraform. You will be proactive in driving automation patterns that lead to self-healing and self-scaling systems, championing the AWS Well-Architected Framework.
  • Pipeline Enablement: Collaborate closely with engineering teams to design and implement CI/CD pipelines optimized for deploying and managing our analytics engine. You must be a good communicator to translate requirements into resilient infrastructure.
  • Automation Strategy & Ownership: Identify and eliminate manual toil across the engineering organization, utilizing NodeJS and Python and cloud-native services to achieve near-100% automation. You will be a self-starter who takes full ownership of projects from inception to completion.
  • Secure & Compliant Connectivity: Design, build, and maintain secure network connectivity and Site-to-Site VPN solutions. Due to the nature of our work, a cautious and detail-oriented approach to security and networking is paramount.
  • Container and Orchestration Automation: Own the entire lifecycle of our ECS and Kubernetes (EKS) clusters, implementing GitOps principles and advanced automation (e.g., using Kubernetes Operators) for reliable, automatic infrastructure state convergence.
  • Passionate AI Evangelists: You are passionate for using tools like GitHub Copilot to their full potential. This isn't just about auto-completing code; it's about fundamentally rethinking our development lifecycle, automating toil, and empowering our engineers to focus on solving the most challenging problems. If you're constantly experimenting with new prompts and workflows to build better software faster, you'll feel right at home.
  • Empathetic Troubleshooting: Act as an escalation point for production issues. You will apply an empathetic approach when working with internal and external partners to swiftly diagnose and resolve complex system problems.

The Expertise You'll Bring (Requirements)

We are looking for a technically deep fast learner with a strong work ethic who thrives in a collaborative, high-impact environment.

Core Technical Competencies

  • Deep AWS Expertise: Expert-level, hands-on experience with key AWS services, including VPC, EC2, ECS, EKS, IAM, S3, and SQS.
  • Advanced Automation & Scripting: Proficiency in writing production-grade automation code using Python, NodeJS, and/or Shell Scripting.
  • IaC Mastery: Proven experience with Terraform or similar Infrastructure as Code tools, focusing on modularity and reusability.
  • Containerization & Orchestration: Strong command of Docker and Kubernetes/EKS lifecycle management.
  • CI/CD Pipeline Design: Experience building robust, high-throughput CI/CD pipelines.
  • Networking Fundamentals: Deep understanding of networking, VPN technologies, TLS, HTTPS, and network security protocols.
  • Observability Driven: Use application and infrastructure observability as a data-driven approach to guide platform and infrastructure improvements.

Highly Valued Experience (Nice to Have)

  • Experience implementing security compliance and auditing in highly regulated environments (e.g., HIPAA, PCI-DSS).
  • Professional AWS Certification (e.g., DevOps Engineer Professional).
  • Experience with GitOps workflows using tools like ArgoCD or Flux.

Race & Ethnicity Definitions

If you believe you belong to any of the categories of protected veterans listed below, please indicate by making the appropriate selection. As a government contractor subject to the Vietnam Era Veterans Readjustment Assistance Act (VEVRAA), we request this information in order to measure the effectiveness of the outreach and positive recruitment efforts we undertake pursuant to VEVRAA. Classification of protected categories is as follows:

A "disabled veteran" is one of the following: a veteran of the U.S. military, ground, naval or air service who is entitled to compensation (or who but for the receipt of military retired pay would be entitled to compensation) under laws administered by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs; or a person who was discharged or released from active duty because of a service-connected disability.

A "recently separated veteran" means any veteran during the three-year period beginning on the date of such veteran's discharge or release from active duty in the U.S. military, ground, naval, or air service.

Voluntary Self-Identification of Disability

Form CC-305
OMB Control Number 1250-0005
Expires 04/30/2026

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
