As a Software Engineer, you are a fully contributing engineer who builds and maintains production-grade software. This role is designed for engineers with a specialism in either frontend or backend, while encouraging growth into full-stack capability through structured learning, collaboration, and exposure to modern practices.
You’ll be involved in:
- Designing, developing, and maintaining high-quality software solutions
- Applying your specialist expertise (frontend or backend) while expanding skills across the stack
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable, intuitive, and performant applications
- Participating in code reviews, pair programming, and knowledge sharing
- Staying current with emerging technologies and engineering best practices
You will be accountable for:
- Delivering end-to-end features from initial concept through design, development, testing, deployment, and ongoing maintenance. Ensure that each feature meets functional requirements, integrates seamlessly with existing systems, and provides a high-quality user experience.
- Applying best practices and testing in software development, including clean architecture, design patterns, and coding standards. Implement robust testing strategies such as unit, integration, and automated tests to guarantee reliability and prevent regressions.
- Collaborating across engineering, delivery and product to align technical solutions with business goals. Communicate effectively to clarify requirements, resolve dependencies, and ensure smooth delivery of projects.
- Participating in code reviews to maintain high standards of quality, security, and performance. Provide constructive feedback, share knowledge, and help improve team practices while learning from others’ approaches.
- Building and maintaining production-grade software that meets business and technical requirements to ensure compliance with architectural guidelines, business objectives, and any regulatory or security requirements.
- Writing clean, testable, and maintainable code that is easy to read, well-structured, and documented for long-term maintainability. Prioritise simplicity and clarity, ensuring that future developers can easily understand and extend the codebase.
- Upholding our code quality and testing standards and maintain high levels of test coverage. Continuously improve testing practices and participate in quality assurance initiatives to keep the codebase robust and reliable.
- Contributing to CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and DevOps practices to increase efficiency and reduce manual effort. Collaborate with DevOps teams to ensure smooth operations and rapid delivery cycles.
