Senior Data Engineer

You will be:
- designing and building a modern cloud-native data platform based on Snowflake, dbt, Fivetran, and AWS,
- migrating legacy SQL Server, SSIS, and SSAS solutions to a scalable cloud data ecosystem,
- developing and optimizing ELT pipelines and data transformation processes,
- creating high-performance data models and optimizing SQL queries for enterprise-scale workloads,
- implementing data quality, governance, monitoring, and lineage best practices,
- automating data engineering workflows using Git and CI/CD pipelines,
- collaborating with architects, business stakeholders, and global engineering teams to deliver scalable analytics solutions,
- supporting the evolution of the data platform to enable advanced analytics and future AI-driven use cases,
- working in an international environment with distributed teams across Europe, the US, and India,
- contributing to technical decisions and driving engineering best practices across the platform.
Your profile:
- 5+ years of commercial experience in Data Engineering,
- strong hands-on experience with Snowflake,
- excellent SQL skills, including query optimization and data warehouse design,
- hands-on experience with dbt,
- experience migrating legacy ETL and enterprise data warehouse solutions to modern cloud platforms,
- practical experience with Fivetran or similar cloud data ingestion tools,
- experience working with AWS services related to modern data platforms,
- knowledge of Git-based development workflows and CI/CD practices,
- understanding of data governance, data lineage, monitoring, and data quality concepts,
- ability to work independently and take ownership of technical solutions,
- experience working in global delivery environments across multiple time zones,
- excellent communication and collaboration skills in multicultural teams,
- willingness to work until approximately 6:00–6:30 PM CEST to overlap with US-based teams,
- readiness to travel occasionally to the client's office in Washington, DC,
- very good command of English (written and spoken).
- Work from the European Union region and a work permit are required.
Nice to have:
- experience in financial services, investment, banking, or other regulated industries,
- experience with Sigma Analytics,
- Snowflake certification,
- experience designing enterprise-scale cloud data platforms,
- familiarity with modern analytics and AI-ready data architectures.
