SUMMARY:

This unique role is precisely for that individual who is ready to meet the challenge of participating in the ongoing construction of a “best of breed” technology ecosystem.  This role will not only further Xilio’s goals but also enable the company to pursue new avenues of thought and active collaboration through the innovative lens of technology.

Job Responsibilities:

  • As an independent IT leader in a growing Life Sciences company, you will work to get to know the processes and efforts behind Xilio’s diverse technology strategies and develop a continuous improvement lifecycle using both the current tools and new/emerging technologies.
  • You will ceaselessly investigate new concepts and technologies in a “Proof of Concept” universe that can help to accelerate or improve Xilio cloud strategies. Your world will consist of everything having to do with automation, collaboration, API management, middleware, xAI, and all emerging technologies in these areas.
  • You will implement data architecture improvements and create visualization solutions that transform raw data into actionable insights.
  • Whenever possible, you will collaborate with departments across Xilio to identify opportunities for process improvement and digital transformation and contribute to initiatives that make technology more accessible and productive for all Xilio employees.
  • You will work closely with the CIO and the Digital Experience Architect to support broader IT initiatives and contribute to organizational resilience. This includes participating in all operational activities in IT as if you were responsible for those outcomes as well. To be clear, in addition to your role as a Digital Innovation Alchemist:
    • You are a help desk technician.
    • You are an information security agent.
    • You are an IT project manager.
    • You are a network and infrastructure administrator.
    • You are a validation and compliance participant.
    • You are a coder.
    • You are a teacher and mentor.

Skills, Qualifications, and Requirements:

  • You are an insatiably curious technologist and you actively keep up with the rapidly-changing world of #allofthethings. You are always hungry for more knowledge to find out if there are better solutions or better ways to improve upon what we use today. Nothing intimidates you.
  • You excel at rapidly learning new technologies and platforms, demonstrating exceptional adaptability in a fast-evolving technological landscape.
  • You possess practical knowledge of generative AI applications and how they can be leveraged to solve real business challenges and you are ready to take your xAI game to the next level.
  • You have demonstrated experience with data visualization tools and data management concepts.
  • You bring a solutions-oriented mindset with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into accessible language for non-technical stakeholders.
  • You thrive in environments where you need to prioritize effectively among competing demands and can operate with a high degree of independence.
  • You understand what it means to work in an industry that has unique and archaic compliance and security considerations
  • You have knowledge of information security best practices and apply a risk-based approach towards your decision making - you also know when to grip it and rip it.
  • You are passionate about IT’s amazing capacity to be a world class service organization and you are always looking for ways to empower your customers and improve their experience and skills. You also love to teach and explain.  People’s success, whatever form it comes in, energizes you.
  • Last but not least, the technical bits:
    • You have proven experience implementing automation solutions using platforms like Zapier, Make, Airtable, Mailparser, Docupilot, and LCNC integration tools.
    • You get the principles of good data management. Excel is bad; relational data is good.  Data sprawl is bad; structured ontologies are awesome.
    • Networking? No problem - you get wifi, you get networking, you just get it.  The rest can be Googled.
    • You understand what it means to have a killer security stack. You also get what it means to secure employees while simultaneously empowering them to be awesome.  In short, you are able to walk the tightrope of balance.
    • You have experience (practically or contextually) with API integrations, webhook implementations, and creating connections between disparate systems that tend to be unfriendly.
    • You understand governance - you don’t love it - but you get its importance in the universe. Similarly, you understand process improvement - and you DO love it.
    • You understand the power of Google Workspace as it relates to the Google xAI ecosystem including Gemini, NLM, Deep Research, Co-Lab, Jupyter, and, fingers crossed, VertexAI.
    • You love Slack. You love Chromium.  You love friendly storage platforms like Box and Egnyte.  In short, you are ready to put your Microsoft past behind you and open your eyes to an open-stack world.

Form CC-305

OMB Control Number 1250-0005
Expires 04/30/2026

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
