
Senior Systems & Network Engineer
XLA is seeking an accomplished and versatile Senior Systems and Network Engineer for a mission critical DHS program. This pivotal role entails a comprehensive blend of system engineering and network management, requiring proficiency in server operating systems, virtualization, network security, and optimizing system performance in a secure setting.
Key Job Responsibilities:
- Leadership and Team Management:
- Lead and manage the team, ensuring accountability, training, and fostering a collaborative work environment.
- Regularly report on team and project status to management.
- System and Network Administration:
- Install, operate, and manage server operating systems like Windows Server on both physical and virtual platforms.
- Design, implement, test, and support diverse network solutions.
- VMware Management:
- Oversee VMware environments, including ESXi and vSphere servers.
- Handle storage and virtualization management, especially with NetApp equipment.
- Networking Expertise:
- Specialize in network security and performance, with a focus on system and network monitoring, optimization, and troubleshooting.
- Manage and integrate MFA technologies in various environments, including VPN access.
- Splunk Administration:
- Deploy, Maintain and optimize a Splunk environment, aligning with security and operational standards.
- Cisco Systems Proficiency:
- Implement and manage Cisco-related network infrastructure and solutions.
- Compliance and Security Standards:
- Uphold a secure and compliant environment in accordance with STIG and DHS standards, targeting Authority to Operate (ATO) compliance.
- Integrated Technology Solutions:
- Integrate various system and network technologies to establish a functional, secure infrastructure supporting organizational goals.
- Setup and configure a fully functional COOP site for the program
Core Job Requirements:
- Experience: Minimum of 10 years in system and network engineering.
- Certifications: Preferable certifications include MCSE, MCP, CompTIA Network+, Security+, Server+, VMware VCA, Cisco CCENT/CCNA, ITIL Foundation, A+, or comparable experience.
- Educational Qualification: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (optional, not required).
Security Clearance: Ability to obtain a Public Trust
