Xometry is seeking a visionary and results-oriented Staff Data Scientist to lead data science across key product and business problems, using analytics, experimentation, statistical methods, and machine learning to drive better decisions and measurable outcomes. As a founding Data Scientist for Xometry’s India PDT team, you will also help establish strong data practices, build cross-region trust and collaboration, and foster a culture of innovation and execution as the organization scales.

How You'll Contribute:

AI Driven Analytics

    • Drive AI-Enabled Software Development: Champion the adoption of AI across the SDLC, identifying and scaling innovative ways to accelerate data analytics across Xometry

Analytics & Business Insights

    • Define metrics to measure product and business performance.
    • Analyze data to identify opportunities, issues, and key business drivers.
    • Turn insights into actionable recommendations and estimate business impact.
    • Build dashboards and visualizations to track performance and trends.

Experimentation & Statistical Inference

    • Design experiments to measure the impact of product and business changes.
    • Apply statistical and causal inference methods to draw reliable conclusions from data.

Predictive Modeling & Machine Learning

    • Build and evaluate predictive models that estimate the likelihood of key business outcomes. Apply machine learning and statistical modeling to improve decision-making and automate business processes.

Data, Tools & Technical Leadership

    • Prepare and analyze large datasets using cloud platforms such as AWS and Snowflake.
    • Use SQL, Python, Jupyter Notebooks, Looker, and related tools to analyze data and generate insights.
    • Partner with Product, Engineering, and business teams to shape strategy and priorities.
    • Clearly communicate insights, model results, and recommendations to stakeholders.

Found and Scale Xometry’s India Product Development Center

    • Serve as a founding Data Scientist, establishing strong data science practices and building a high-performing team.
    • Set a high technical bar and mentor other scientists across analytics, experimentation, and modeling

What You'll Brind to Xometry:

  • 8+ years of progressive data scientist experience, with a significant portion in a strategic or staff/principal/director-level role
  • Bachelor’s degree required; degree in applied math, computer science, natural sciences or engineering preferred
  • M.S. or Ph.D. in a related field highly desired
  • 5+ years of experience with statistical modeling, and optimization techniques
  • Proficient in Python (pandas, numpy, SciPy, and scikit-learn preferred)
  • Proficient in linear algebra and statistics
  • Familiar with scientific software principals, e.g. versioning systems, reproducibility
  • Experience in the manufacturing industry is desired
