HR Generalist

Purpose of the Role
To ensure the efficient execution of HR operations, including processes, payroll, and compliance, while bettering the employee experience and business value of HR activities. The HR Generalist works across Xometry departments to optimise HR processes and ensure accurate, timely delivery of operational HR services, and is the point of contact for their employee cohort’s inquiries.
Key Responsibilities
Employee Support & Lifecycle Management
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all employee enquiries and requests related to employment, HR administration, contracts, and time/attendance management.
- Ensure prompt, efficient, and accurate resolution of requests via the HR ticketing system (Jira), managing escalations to relevant stakeholders when necessary.
HR Data Integrity & Document Management - Maintain a high level of data accuracy and integrity across all HR systems and employee records, ensuring timely updates for all employee lifecycle events.
- Systematically manage and maintain comprehensive digital and physical employee files, ensuring all key documents throughout the employee lifecycle are present and secure.
Contractual Documentation & Changes - Draft and process official contractual documents and amendments for permanent employees, covering the full spectrum of the employee lifecycle, including initial hiring, compensation changes (e.g., spot bonuses, merit increases), and variations in contract conditions.
Process Excellence & Continuous Improvement - Develop, document, and maintain standardized, clear HR processes to ensure consistency, scalability, and transparency across the organization.
- Proactively review and optimize critical operational HR processes, including payroll administration, leave management, and the employee request workflow, focusing on efficiency and employee experience.
- Translate HR policies and procedures into clear, actionable operational guidelines.
Payroll Oversight & Collaboration - Ensure timely, accurate, and complete submission of all necessary payroll inputs to the Payroll Specialist.
- Collaborate closely with external payroll providers, Finance/Accounting teams, and employees to ensure seamless payroll execution.
- Systematically address and resolve all payroll-related discrepancies and employee queries.
Regulatory Compliance - Ensure HR practices, policies, and employment contracts are fully compliant with current local and European labor laws, implementing necessary updates proactively, as well as providing guidance to employees and HR colleagues for such matters
- In partnership with the Sr. HR Director and, where required, external auditors or legal counsel, continuously monitor changes in labor law and employment regulations.
Skills & Qualifications - 3-5 years experience as a generalist in a French and / or German HR organisation; additional countries are a plus especially UK and Poland
- Bachelor's degree in HR, Business Operations, or related field and/or equivalent professional experience
- Ability to self-manage and organise their work based on key monthly and quarterly deadlines (e.g. payroll cutoff dates, project delivery commitments etc.)
- Analytical and problem solving skills with the ability to identify, analyse, diagnose and suggest paths of action for issues which arise in the course of their work.
- Knowledge of labour laws, payroll practices, compliance and regulatory matters related to the markets they serve.
- High degree of attention to detail, speed in processing, ability to spot errors and follow through on information in a timely manner.
- German and English to native / bilingual proficiency
