The Opportunity
We are currently in search of a Small Business Account Executive to join our dynamic Sales team. This role is pivotal in the early stages of our growth strategy, responsible for generating sales pipeline and closing deals with opportunities under 250 lives.
As a Small Business Account Executive, you will need to wield a versatile skill set and adapt to various tasks to ensure success. The ideal candidate possesses an unwavering drive to excel and actively contribute, even in the face of ever-changing market dynamics and priorities.
Within the Sales function, you will find abundant opportunities for personal and professional growth, honing your expertise in prospecting, lead generation, and sales closing. You'll work closely with our Sales, Marketing, and Product teams, collaborating on strategies that drive impact and revenue.
Key Responsibilities
- Primarily, you will source new clients with employers ranging from 25 - 250 benefit-eligible employees.
- Supporting key tasks and activities as part of the sales process, including supporting RFPs, crafting deal materials, meeting strategies, and handing off closed-won business to our implementation teams.
- Nurture relationships directly in your market with companies and other key players, including consultants and brokers; build an on-the-ground presence through face-to-face relationships.
- Manage both inbound leads and conduct proactive outbound prospecting efforts, focusing on specific regions or verticals to maximize impact.
- Take ownership of the entire sales cycle, including effectively closing deals and achieving assigned sales targets.
- Work cross-functionally with Marketing, Operations and Sales teams
Requirements
- 5 years sales experience, with a minimum of 2 years selling business to business.
- Track record of meeting or exceeding goal closing deals.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills are a must. The ability to convey complex ideas in a clear and concise manner is essential.
- Proficiency in Salesforce is crucial for managing and forecasting pipeline.
- The ability to learn quickly when facing new situations through structure and experimentation
- The ability to understand the customer, deeply, to gain insight and identify opportunities
- Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Nice-to-have:
- Experience selling to HR buyers
- Familiarity with sales enablement tools like Amplemarket, Judy Diamond, and Gong
- Experience working at an early-stage startups
- Industry related experience (e.g. Tech, Insuretech, healthtech, etc). While experience in the healthcare benefits industry is not required, a passion for learning and understanding the domain is highly valued!
- Bachelor's Degree.

CA Pay Range
$75,000 - $90,000 USD
