Senior Frontend Engineer - Decisioning Services

Argentina

Yalo

Hi! This is Yalo! We are on a mission to bring conversational commerce to the world...

Remember how it used to be to interact with businesses that knew and understood you, that could recommend exactly what you needed, and that with a simple message could get you what you wanted??? Yep... neither do we. That is why at Yalo we are marrying the scale of digital commerce with the personalization and simplicity of conversations to help companies delight their users.

We know that traditional SAAS companies focus on first world problems... we don't! Having started in Latin America, our roots are in Emerging Markets and therefore we care about bringing amazing experiences to a population that traditionally has been underserved, such as the small shop owner in Brazil that is ordering online for the first time.

This role is pivotal in crafting and delivering unparalleled customer experiences for core components such as Customer Profiles, Segmentation and Audiences. As the visual architect behind Yalo's personalization engine, you will bridge the gap between graphical design and technical implementation, taking an active role in defining how the application looks and works.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and optimize data-intensive user interfaces that power Yalo's core components.
  • Collaborate closely with UX/UI designers to translate designs and wireframes into high-quality code.
  • Work alongside backend engineers to ensure seamless integration with data microservices.
  • Drive the adoption of best practices in code health, testing, and maintainability.
  • Stay updated with emerging frontend technologies and advocate for their adoption where relevant.
  • Mentor junior frontend engineers, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous learning.
  • Ensure the performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications across various devices and browsers.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. Master's degree is a plus.
  • 5+ years of frontend development experience.
  • Proficiency in JavaScript and ReactJS is essential.
  • Deep understanding of modern web development practices and frameworks.
  • Experience with data visualization libraries or tools is a significant advantage.
  • Familiarity with frontend build tools, such as Webpack, Babel, and NPM.
  • Strong attention to detail, especially in UI/UX and design principles.
  • Ability to write clean, readable, and easily maintainable code.

Nice to have:

  • Experience creating reusable and composable UI component libraries
  • Knowledge on data visualization libraries and components (like Nivo)
  • Experience with other frontend frameworks or libraries.
  • Contributions to open-source projects or a notable presence in the developer community.
  • Knowledge of server-side processes or languages, enhancing collaboration with backend teams.

What do we offer?

  • Unlimited PTO policy
  • Competitive rewards on the market range
  • Work-Personal Life Integration
  • Start-up environment
  • International teamwork
  • You and nothing else limit your career here

At Yalo, we are dedicated to creating a workplace that embodies our core values: caring, initiative, excellence, and simplicity. We believe in the power of diversity and inclusivity, where everyone's unique perspectives, experiences, and talents contribute to our collective success. If you believe you belong to any of the categories of protected veterans listed below, please indicate by making the appropriate selection. As a government contractor subject to the Vietnam Era Veterans Readjustment Assistance Act (VEVRAA), we request this information in order to measure the effectiveness of the outreach and positive recruitment efforts we undertake pursuant to VEVRAA. Classification of protected categories is as follows:

A "disabled veteran" is one of the following: a veteran of the U.S. military, ground, naval or air service who is entitled to compensation (or who but for the receipt of military retired pay would be entitled to compensation) under laws administered by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs; or a person who was discharged or released from active duty because of a service-connected disability.

Form CC-305
OMB Control Number 1250-0005
Expires 04/30/2026

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
