Job Summary 🧾

As an Engineering Manager, you will lead a team of talented engineers focused on developing and optimizing our commerce and integrations infrastructure. You will leverage your expertise in commerce systems and technologies like Go, Node.js, MongoDB, and Kafka to drive technical innovation and ensure the timely delivery of high-quality solutions. You will be responsible for fostering a collaborative and high-performance team culture while managing the full software development lifecycle.

What are the responsibilities for this role? 🧠

  • Lead, mentor, and grow a team of engineers while fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Oversee the design, development, and deployment of scalable, reliable, and high-performance commerce platforms.
  • Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other engineering teams to define technical requirements and deliver solutions that meet business goals.
  • Architect and implement key components of the commerce system using Go, Node.js, MongoDB, and Kafka.
  • Own the technical direction of the commerce stack, ensuring it aligns with both current needs and future scalability.
  • Conduct regular code reviews and provide constructive feedback to ensure high code quality and maintainable solutions.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues in production and development environments.
  • Manage team resources, setting clear goals and ensuring the timely delivery of projects in an agile environment.
  • Drive improvements in development processes, tools, and methodologies.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends and emerging technologies, continuously assessing opportunities to improve the platform.

Job Requirements?💻

  • 5+ years of experience in software engineering, with at least 2 years in an engineering management role.
  • Strong experience in building and scaling commerce systems or similar platforms.
  • Proficiency in Go, Node.js, and MongoDB.
  • Solid understanding of Kafka and distributed systems.
  • Experience in designing and implementing microservices architectures.
  • Strong knowledge of cloud infrastructure (e.g., Google Cloud, AWS) and DevOps practices.
  • Familiarity with Agile development methodologies and experience leading engineering teams in an agile environment.
  • Proven track record of managing cross-functional teams to successfully deliver complex projects on time.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to drive technical decision-making.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications:🫀

  • Experience with other commerce-related technologies (e.g., payment systems, CRM, inventory management).
  • Familiarity with containerization and orchestration tools like Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Background in event-driven architectures or streaming data.
