Key Account Manager

We’re looking for a dedicated and relationship-driven Key Account Manager to oversee and nurture Yerba Madre’s commercial partnerships within designated key account portfolio and territory.

In this role, the Key Account Manager will develop thoughtful strategic action plans, align closely with Yerba Madre’s growth strategy, and deliver results across large and small format chain customers in the off-premises channel, helping connect our mission with retailer priorities and long-term partnerships.

HOW YOU’LL HELP:

1. Annual & Strategic Business Planning

Build comprehensive annual business plans for each assigned customer, aligned to revenue, volume, profit, and market share goals.
Lead collaborative joint business planning processes that foster alignment on priorities, growth drivers, and execution frameworks.
Analyze customer trends, category performance, and competitive dynamics to continuously refine strategies throughout the year.

2. Business Plan Execution & Performance Management

Deliver business plan objectives across the region and directly managed key accounts.
Proactively monitor financial, volume, and operational performance and develop thoughtful mitigation plans when risks arise.
Partner closely with finance and supply chain teams to ensure accurate forecasting and strong inventory management.

3. Opportunity Development & Revenue Growth

Identify and maximize growth opportunities, including new programs, distribution expansion, seasonal initiatives, and retailer-specific activations.
Develop clear execution plans that outline impact, ROI, investment criteria, and resource needs.
Build trusted relationships that encourage collaborative exploration of new business initiatives.

4. In-Store Execution & Field Collaboration

Partner with field marketing teams and broker/merchandising partners to ensure strong in-store execution.
Serve as a point of contact for store-level programs, ensuring displays, POS materials, and promotions are properly deployed.
Conduct periodic store visits to evaluate compliance, identify opportunities, and uphold brand standards.

5. Promotional Strategy & Retailer Programming

Design and implement promotional programs aligned with retailer strategies and Yerba Madre’s annual plans.
Leverage consumer insights and data to optimize promotional effectiveness and ROI.
Analyze post-promotion results and apply learnings to future programs.

6. Customer Presentations & Communication

Develop and deliver clear, compelling, data-driven presentations, including:
• Annual planning decks
• Quarterly business reviews
• Activation and promotion recaps
• Issue-resolution and mitigation plans
Communicate performance transparently and build credibility as a trusted partner and advisor.

7. Cross-Functional Collaboration & Insights Translation

Collaborate with distribution, category management, marketing, and operations teams to support customer needs and execution.
Translate shopper, consumer, and category insights into engaging sell stories that support assortment, shelving, and activation strategies.
Partner with brand and marketing teams to ensure in-market execution aligns with brand standards and strategy.

WHAT YOU’LL PROVIDE:

• 5+ years of CPG industry experience (beverage preferred) in a related key account role.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and ability to meet DOT standards.
• Established relationships with key account decision-makers in assigned territory.
• Working knowledge of direct store delivery (DSD) distribution.
• Strong communication, presentation, planning, negotiation, and analytical skills.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel.

Consistent delivery of results across the region and portfolio is essential, supported by agility, resilience, and proactive adjustments to mitigate operational and financial risks.

Proactive Opportunity Utilization

Success is driven by actively identifying and developing growth opportunities, evaluating expected impact, applying sound investment criteria, and driving sustainable profitability through disciplined execution.

TRAVEL & Physical Requirements:

Travel is an integral part of this role and is expected to account for approximately 40% of work-related activities.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for extended periods, and move while lifting.

WHAT WE OFFER:

The pay range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors; actual pay offered may vary based on (but not limited to) work experience, education and/or training, critical skills, and/or business considerations. Sales commissions and/or variable pay plans are also offered depending on the position (ex: monthly, quarterly, annual bonuses). Salary Range

$60,000 - $110,000 CAD
