Staff Accountant

The Staff Accountant supports the day-to-day accounting operations of the organization. This role is responsible for performing reconciliations, analysis and preparing journal entries. This role will assist with monthly closings and other accounting duties. This individual will also participate in process improvements and in preparing financial, statistical, and technical reports. 

THIS ROLE WILL REQUIRE 3 DAYS A WEEK ON-SITE IN OUR LOS ANGELES OFFICE

How you’ll help: 

ACCOUNTING & FINANCIAL REPORTING  

  • Prepare and post journal entries 
  • Prepare monthly general ledger account reconciliations in accordance with defined quality characteristics  
  • Assist with month-end and year-end close processes  
  • Maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation 
  • Support preparation of financial statements and management reports  
  • Meet or exceed required processing and reporting deadlines 

COMPLIANCE & CONTROLS  

  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal accounting policies and procedures 
  • Respond to information requests related to internal and external financial audits 
  • Assist in maintaining and improving accounting processes and controls. 

ANALYSIS & SUPPORT 

  • Analyze account variances and investigate discrepancies 
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Finance and Operations 
  • Assist in other month-end activities, analysis and ad hoc reporting as needed 

 

what you’ll provide: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting required 
  • 2+ years of accounting experience with working knowledge of GAAP 
  • Ability to seek out relevant information from others (i.e. co-workers, other employees in the field, vendors, etc.) 
  • Experience with MS Office applications with strong knowledge of Excel 
  • Organization skills that include multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment 
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal 
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented with strong numeracy and analytical skills 
  • Good problem-solving and time management skills with the ability to maintain a strong focus on details. 

 

Preferred Skills: 

  • Skilled in ERP systems with strong preference for NetSuite

Timely and Accurate Reporting: 

  • Consistently meet processing and reporting deadlines, ensuring prompt preparation of journal entries, analyses, and account reconciliations. 

Compliance Excellence: 

  • Demonstrate a commitment to ensuring compliance with GAAP standards, actively participating in audits, and conducting thorough monthly balance sheet reconciliations.

The pay range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors; actual pay offered may vary based on (but not limited to) work experience, education and/or training, critical skills, and/or business considerations. Sales commissions and/or variable pay plans are also offered depending on the position (ex: monthly, quarterly, annual bonuses). Salary Range

$72,500 - $90,000 USD
