Position Summary

Join Yes Energy, the market leader in power market data and analytics, and help accelerate innovation in the energy industry. As an entry-level Business Development Representative (BDR), you’ll be on the front lines of sales, engaging with energy traders, utilities, analysts, and grid operators to connect them with our cutting-edge solutions. This is a mission-driven role ideal for a motivated, curious, and ambitious professional looking to launch a high-impact sales career.

You’ll play a critical role in driving new business by identifying and qualifying opportunities, collaborating closely with Sales and Marketing teams, and becoming a trusted first impression of the Yes Energy brand.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Identify and engage potential customers across the energy trading, utility, and ISO/RTO landscape
  • Generate qualified leads through outbound prospecting (calls, emails, LinkedIn)
  • Respond to and qualify inbound interest from marketing campaigns
  • Research and build targeted account lists; identify key contacts and craft personalized outreach
  • Schedule initial meetings and demos to connect prospects with Account Executives
  • Support sales activities including discovery calls, product demos, and industry events
  • Collaborate with Sales and Marketing teams to refine messaging and outreach strategies
  • Maintain accurate records and pipeline data in Salesforce
  • Prepare weekly/monthly/quarterly reports on outreach activity and results
  • Continuously develop knowledge of the power markets and Yes Energy’s solutions

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, environmental science, energy systems, or a related field
  • At least 1 year of experience in B2B sales, customer-facing roles, or business development
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal and active listening skills
  • Ability to manage time effectively, multitask, and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
  • Self-motivated, curious, and driven to achieve performance goals

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with Salesforce CRM or similar systems
  • Experience in SaaS, data platforms, or energy technology
  • Knowledge of energy markets, grid operations, or renewable energy sectors
  • Previous experience with cold calling or outbound prospecting
  • Demonstrated success in a goal-oriented, high-performance environment
  • Ability to understand and articulate value propositions
  • Organized and resourceful, with a strong desire to learn and grow
