Position Summary
The Sales Director is responsible for setting the sales strategy, managing a team of high-performing Account Executives, and developing key relationships with strategic clients across ISO/RTO regions. We are seeking a dynamic and results-oriented Sales Director to lead and scale our Account Executive team, with a focus on acquiring new logos. This position is critical to our verticalized go-to-market strategy and revenue acceleration.

- Salary range: Base $150,000-$170,000 + commission. Potential OTE: $260,000

Primary Responsibilities
- Lead, coach, and grow a team of Account Executives to meet revenue growth goals on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
- Set team and individual sales targets, track KPIs, and report on sales performance.
- Drive sales pipeline growth through direct outreach, inbound leads, and strategic partnerships.
- Develop strong relationships with executive-level stakeholders. Collaborate with Marketing, Product, and Business Development to refine go-to-market strategies.
- Lead contract negotiations, enterprise solution presentations, and RFP responses.
- Perform weekly pipeline review and one-on-one meeting support with each sales rep.
- Provide weekly forecast and pipeline review to the VP of Sales
- Performs daily/weekly calls and meetings support for sales reps.
- Responsible for ensuring the sales team meets profit and market share growth goals.
- Provides leadership to the sales organization and helps support the implementation of objectives that appropriately reflect Yes Energy’s values and business goals.
- Help design, implement, and manage sales strategy and processes. Establishes and maintains high-quality, integrity, and process consistency levels in the sales organization.
- Ensures that planning, forecasting, and budgeting efforts support and appropriately integrate with other groups' and the company's planning processes.
- Responsible for equitably assigning vertical markets, product and use case alignments, and sales goals to ensure Yes Energy’s customer retention, customer growth, and financial objectives are allocated correctly across the sales team.
- Partner with marketing, product, and sales team members to identify opportunities for sales process improvement.
- Facilitates the successful implementation of new programs through the sales organization by ensuring a well-defined, efficient sales process is in place for launch. Fosters an ethic of continuous process improvement.
- Works closely with the VP of Sales to understand the sales technology strategy. Recommends changes and enhancements to the company technology stack when needed.
- Ensures sales reports and other internal business intelligence are provided to the stakeholders. Helps develop new reporting tools as needed. Coordinates with leadership and other stakeholders to lead efficient, accurate sales reporting initiatives.
- Working closely with leadership and People Operations, supports sales training plan focused on developing and reinforcing critical sales competencies.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, economics, or a related field.
- Seven years of B2B SaaS sales experience, including three years in a sales leadership role.
- Two years of leading a team using MEDDPICC and a Value-Based Selling sales methodology
- Deep understanding of North American electricity markets (e.g., PJM, ERCOT, CAISO, MISO).
- Proven track record of hitting or exceeding multi-million-dollar sales targets.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and team-building skills.
Skills & Abilities
- Has built or supported a go-to-market strategy and corporate sales plan
- Experience selling SaaS products into NA Power Market Participant companies
- Track record of selling opportunities with an annual value of over $200k to C-Level executives
- Experience in monitoring and evaluating sales representative progress against stated expectations, in addition to aligning and changing behavior with performance expectations
- Has managed a team of 6 or more salespeople
- Can manage key customer relationships and close strategic opportunities
- Has utilized Salesforce to manage team sales tasks, pipeline, and closing data
- Has experience hiring and onboarding sales representatives
- Knows how to build and manage a territory structure based on geography, customer vertical, and/or use case alignment
- Experience providing status reports with market and customer feedback
- Demonstrated ability in all aspects of sales leadership
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with Salesforce is preferred.
- Experience selling SaaS, analytics, or data services to power market participants.
- Existing network of contacts in energy trading, renewables, or utility sectors.
- Master’s degree or MBA.
