Position Summary:
As a Product Manager, you will own the product roadmap for expanding Yes Energy’s flagship catalog of nodal power market data. You will act as the critical bridge between customer needs and technical execution, collaborating closely with our Data Engineering and Product teams to ensure data excellence. In this role, you will transform messy, complex power infrastructure and market data into highly visual, actionable, and reliable solutions that empower our clients to win the day ahead.
Position Details:
- Salary Range: $95,000-115,000 USD
- Location: Yes Energy Core Offices (Boulder, CO; Chicago, IL; Boston, MA; Houston, TX)
- Full-time
- Hybrid - 2 days in the office
- Reporting to: Director of Product
- Travel requirements: 15-20% travel required for client sites and internal office collaboration
Primary Responsibilities:
- Roadmap & Backlog Ownership: Lead and execute the product roadmap for expanding Yes Energy's user interface products for nodal power markets.
- Agile Team Leadership: Act as the dedicated Product Owner for an engineering team, meticulously managing the product backlog for features, enhancements, and bug fixes.
- Customer & Stakeholder Discovery: Engage deeply with customers to uncover business challenges, translating feedback into clear, robust technical requirements for engineering teams.
- Data-Driven Analysis: Analyze application usage data, market research, and competitive landscapes to guide strategic future investments in the product.
- Go-To-Market Collaboration: Partner with Sales and Marketing to develop content-driven marketing pieces and coordinate strategic product launch plans.
- Adoption & Engagement: Coordinate with Customer Success to build training tools, define usage metrics, and execute projects that maximize client adoption and value.
- Cross-Functional Training: Educate internal departments on new data features, ensuring commercial and support teams are equipped to support customer success.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree (BS/BA) in a product, technology, energy, or finance-related field.
- 1–3 years of proven experience in product management, preferably within an Agile software development framework.
- 1–3 years of energy industry experience, with a foundational understanding of North American nodal power markets.
Key Competencies & Preferred Qualifications:
- Energy Industry & Market Data Knowledge: Solid domain familiarity with ISO/RTO operations, pricing nodes, and power infrastructure data.
- Technical Execution: Experience leveraging data tools such as SQL, Snowflake, Oracle, Tableau, or Sigma to manipulate data and extract insights.
- Project Management Tools: Strong proficiency working with Agile software development frameworks and project tracking tools, specifically Jira.
- Prioritization & Time Management: High attention to detail and ability to balance competing demands from multiple internal and external stakeholders.
- Problem Solving & Curiosity: A structured thinker who is undaunted by messy datasets and committed to uncovering root causes and scalable solutions.
- Stakeholder Focus: Naturally collaborative mindset with an ability to ask thought-provoking questions to isolate high-value product opportunities.
