Asset Management Associate Director, Private Credit

About the Role 

Yieldstreet’s Investment Team is looking for an Asset Manager to join our Private Credit vertical at the Associate Director level. You will play an integral part in the growth of Yieldstreet's Private Credit asset class. You will be responsible for all matters related to transitioning new transactions from the original underwriter to the transaction management / asset management teams, determining KPI monitoring,  ongoing credit, development of detailed transaction and portfolio level dashboards in conjunction with the transaction management team and drafting workout plans. You will work collaboratively with the internal performance management, operations, marketing and IR  / PCG teams to effectively communicate internally and externally the status of each investment. Yieldstreet has originated over $6 billion in new investments across all asset classes including Private Credit, Art, Litigation Finance and Real Estate. Private Credit investment structures include participations, direct loans and leases, as well as static pool and forward flow receivable acquisitions across the capital stack.

Private Credit is headquartered in New York City.  This role requires you to work in the NYC office location three days a week with the option to work from home two days a week. 

What you'll do:

  • Working with Underwriting teams in the closing stages of the transaction to assure proper reporting requirements to optimize the ongoing credit monitoring. Develop and implement risk mitigation plans in collaboration with internal teams (KPI).
  • Monitor and analyze the performance of Private Credit investments, ensuring compliance with terms and covenants. Regularly review portfolio metrics such as cash flows, yield, credit quality, and risk exposures
  • Contribute to the development and refinement of asset management strategies to optimize portfolio performance.
  • Conduct stress testing and scenario analysis on portfolio assets to evaluate potential impacts on performance.
  • Negotiate amendments, waivers, or restructuring agreements as necessary to preserve investment value.
  • Maintain strong relationships with borrowers, sponsors, and external stakeholders to facilitate effective communication and issue resolution.
  • Prepare detailed reports on portfolio performance, risks, and key developments for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Monitor the application of proceeds to ensure proper application across various investment structures. 
  • Ensure accurate documentation of all investment activities, agreements, and decisions.
  • Stay informed about trends in private credit markets, economic developments, and regulatory changes.
  • Provide insights to the investment team on market opportunities or risks that could impact the portfolio.
  • Work closely with investment, legal, and compliance teams to ensure seamless management of credit assets.

What you’ll need:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Minimum 5 years of asset management, private credit or related fields. 
  • Strong understanding of credit analysis, financial modeling, and loan documentation.
  • Ability to assess risk exposure and accurately articulate a financial and risk analysis in both verbal and written forms
  • Excellent organizational skills and high attention to detail
  • Deal execution mindset with an ability to work under tight deadlines
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office with a particular emphasis on Excel capability
  • Ability to work as part of a hyper growth team within  a venture-backed organization. 
  • Flexible and dynamic capacity to multitask in multiple sub asset classes of Private Credit vertical

Bonus points for:

  • Direct experience in modeling projected financial performance for public or private securitizations or other large portfolios of receivable assets, developing both base case and downside case scenarios based on an analysis of historic performance and current trends.  In depth knowledge of excel is critical for this function.
  • Direct experience in work out transactions
  • MBA in finance or completion of a formal Bank Credit Training Program

Compensation:

  • HIRING SALARY RANGE: $140,000+ (Actual salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.) Compensation package also includes generous, bonus, benefits and equity.
