We are a fully funded independent subsidiary of Panasonic, one of the oldest purpose-driven brands in the world, with leadership from big tech (Google, Apple, Microsoft) as well as hypergrowth startups (Nest, Waymo, Casper).

First up is our Yohana Membership, which just launched in Seattle. It’s a personal assistant service designed for busy families – especially moms – to help lighten the mental load of having too much to do. It’s the first of many meaningful things we’re working on.

About The Role:

This position is responsible for translating digital designs into production-ready web assets that work across all use cases, devices and browsers. Reporting to the Senior Web Architect and working closely with the UX Designer and Program Managers, the Front End Developer uses a deep knowledge of CSS, HTML and Javascript to produce technically sustainable and functional digital components that integrate with existing technical infrastructure to maintain a consistent brand experience.

 

What You’ll Get To Do: 

  • Build easy-to-use and performant websites serving multiple partners across marketing and design
  • Understand the technical constraints of a project, and make pragmatic tradeoffs with stakeholders
  • Contribute to and maintain our interactive design system used across all digital properties
  • Participate in the full development lifecycle, including estimation, design, development, testing, and deployment
  • Collaborate with our design team via regular design critiques and working sessions
  • Review and respond to operational issues, escalating as necessary

 

What You’ll Bring:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience or other evidence of exceptional ability
  • 1-2 years of coding experience with JavaScript frameworks (React, Angular or Ember) with strong CSS skills
  • Solid understanding of fundamental web technologies
  • Thorough understanding of React.js and the web as a whole
  • Testing with a modern test framework i.e., jest, enzyme, cypress, puppeteer, etc.
  • Experience with common front-end development tools such as Babel, Webpack, Yarn, etc.
  • Strong CSS skills w/ experience building responsive applications across a variety of browsers and devices using modern CSS3 techniques
  • Strong communication skills (internal and external), demonstrated problem-solving skills, adaptable, proactive and willing to take ownership.
