JOIN YOUSICIAN

Yousician impacts and enriches the lives of millions of people by empowering them to play music they love, learn something new, and nourish their well-being. We merge music and tech to amplify the everyday. We reimagine the way people learn to play so that everyone can play.

And, you don't need to be a musician to join Yousician!

We’re a band of passionate professionals who love what we do, are great at it, and move to the beat of the same drum. We’re for all player,  from newbies to seasoned pros. If you are looking for a rewarding career opportunity that helps shape the future of music-tech, you’re in the right place!

WHY YOU SHOULD APPLY

This is a rare chance to play a key role in launching our Berlin office and building a high-impact, fast-moving growth team. As Tech Lead, you'll shape the technical direction, hire and mentor engineers, and work on Yousician’s core product that is used by millions worldwide.

If you're a hands-on coding leader who thrives in growth environments and enjoys solving real user problems through experimentation and iteration, this role offers the perfect blend of technical challenge, ownership, and purpose.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

As a Tech Lead, you’ll play a critical role in building and scaling our high-velocity growth team in Berlin.

  • Own and drive technical direction for growth features and experiments across mobile and web.
  • Lead an empowered team that works with full autonomy to ideate, test, and launch.
  • Build and iterate quickly: onboarding flows, pricing experiments, paywall A/B tests, referral features, notifications, personalized content, and more.
  • Work hands-on in Unity (C#), web (TypeScript/React/Node) and/or Python (Flask).
  • Collaborate with product, data, and marketing to find leverage points in the user journey.
  • Balance speed with engineering quality—know when to hack and when to harden.
  • Help scale up a world-class growth engineering practice inside Yousician.

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED

  • 6+ years of experience in software engineering, with at least 1–2 years in a tech lead role.
  • A full-stack builder mindset: You’re at home in the front-end, back-end, and aren’t scared of Unity. With strong skills in at least one of the main technologies we have.
  • Track record of launching A/B tests and growth features in consumer apps or platforms.
  • You think in terms of experiments and outcomes, not features and outputs.
  • Comfort working autonomously in fast-moving environments with lots of ownership.
  • Bonus: Experience with subscriptions, onboarding, funnel analytics, or mobile growth.

Nice to Have

  • Deep Unity/C# experience.
  • Experience with web frameworks (React, Next.js, Node.js) and deployment pipelines.
  • Worked in a startup, scale-up, or built products with strong product-market fit.
  • A personal love of music or learning is a big plus.

WHAT WE OFFER

  • An opportunity to shape and grow our new Berlin office with direct influence on product and technical directions.
  • The chance to work on a meaningful product that helps millions around the world.
  • A highly supportive and collaborative international team across Helsinki and Berlin.
  • Competitive compensation with competitive salary, and perks.
  • A unique role at the intersection of music, education, and technology.

Form CC-305
OMB Control Number 1250-0005
Expires 04/30/2026

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
