- Work with engineers and product managers to define and design projects across Yugabyte Cloud and Yugabyte Platform.
- Work on both broadly defined concepts as well as on narrowly defined, tactical deliverables
- Run lean internal and external usability tests to validate and improve design directions.
- Identify and create the artifacts you believe are required for the success of your project. This could be a user journey diagram, a wireframe, a high-fidelity prototype, a simple paper sketch, or even a screenshot from a similar feature you’ve seen before.
- Participate in standups, sprint planning, and design reviews.
- Collaborate with the engineers to ensure your interfaces look great when coded out.
- Help suggest design solutions to UX issues identified during QA.
- Collaborate with the design team to refine processes that drive efficiency in working with the Product Organization
Required Experience
- Have 8-14 years of experience designing enterprise or developer-focused products
- Are an expert in UI, UX practices and keep up with the industry, technology, and tools.
- Are a critical thinker who makes objective decisions supported by best practices, user data, business goals, and team principles.
- Have an aptitude for systems thinking and information architecture. This means you can think beyond the user and the scope of your project and consider the interdependence of the elements in the system and how they might affect each other.
- Can reduce complex problems down to the right balance of flexibility, power, and ease of use
- Are comfortable explaining your work, to a cross-functional team that doesn’t have a design background
- Are comfortable and methodical in facilitating cross-functional ideation meetings.
- Are Interested in problem-solving and complex systems.
- Have experience managing multiple projects at the same time
- Are self-driven and organized
- Are opinionated yet humble.
- Love helping your colleagues learn and grow—and have them help you learn and grow.
- Love working in a fast-paced startup.
