Job Description:

We are looking for an experienced DevOps Manager to lead our DevOps team. You will play a pivotal role in shaping our deployment strategies, ensuring high availability, and driving automation across our cutting-edge AI products tailored for commercial and US government clients. Your leadership will be crucial in enhancing our deployment efficiency and maintaining our security posture.This role requires a strong technical background combined with exceptional leadership skills to help build and lead a high-performing DevOps team.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Build, mentor, and lead a team of DevOps engineers. Foster a collaborative and innovative culture within the team. 
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive DevOps strategy aligned with business objectives. Stay current with new technologies and recommend innovative solutions that increase value and improve efficiency.
  • Security and Privacy are of the utmost importance to us and our customers, you will have a critical role supporting this.
  • Collaborate and help DevOps Engineers to establish best practices and company-wide guidelines. Participate in the creation of the company's strategic IT roadmap.
  • We are multi-cloud and on-prem. You will be overseeing the design, implementation, and maintenance of this flexable cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, GCP) and software deployments across diverse customer environments.
  • Manage monitoring tools and metrics to measure system performance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Troubleshoot complex system issues and work with customer, partner, and internal development teams to identify root causes and resolve them.
  • Ensure adherence to security best practices and compliance standards.
  • Willingness to travel up to 25% to customer locations, company events, and conferences.

 

Qualifications:

  • A BS degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, or related fields.
  • 3+ years of successfully managing direct reports
  • 7+ years of experience as a DevOps or DevSecOps Engineer, or equivalent software-engineering role.
  • Speak to supporting security/privacy practices within your organization
  • Extensive experience leading application deployments to AWS, Azure, and/or Oracle Cloud environments, as well as on-premises data centers.
  • Experience delivering software to multiple environments using Terraform or similar automation and configuration management technologies.
  • Strong experience with containerization and orchestration technologies, especially Docker, Kubernetes, and Helm.
  • Experience with CI/CD tools such as GitLab, GitHub Actions, Jenkins.. etc, and a willingness to learn and adopt new ones.
  • Experience deploying rapidly evolving software and maintaining a flexible deployment paradigm to enable rapid iteration.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with clients, partner vendors, end users, and cross-functional teams.
  • Experience writing and leveraging infrastructure-as-code (Terraform or similar).
  • Working knowledge of databases, both SQL and NoSQL, and related data structures. 
  • Proficiency in at least one scripting language (i.e Bash, Python).
  • Experience building deployment systems for rapidly developing and changing applications.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A BS in Computer Science, Engineering, or related fields or equivalent experience
  • Experience with containerization and deployment of Machine Learning models.
  • Experience deploying commercial software products into government customer environments.
  • Experience speaking with customers about security and DevOps practices
  • Experience in startup environments.
