Role

As a Senior Frontend Engineer, you will be designing and building advanced UIs for time-series analysis, high-frequency data visualization, and complex event interactions. This role is foundational to how traders experience and interact with real-time intelligence across Zap’s platform. It is ideal for engineers who thrive at the intersection of real-time systems, high-density visualizations, and precision user interfaces.

Please note, this role is hybrid, candidates must be able to work from our office in Athens, Greece.

 

Key Responsibilities

• Build high-performance web apps using Next.js, React, and TypeScript
• Implement and manage real-time data flows using WebSockets
• Prototype UI/UX flows in Figma before implementation
• Develop scalable, performant components for financial and time-series data
• Design and implement high-density data tables and interactive visualizations for multi-dimensional data analysis
• Deliver responsive and optimized UIs that handle high-throughput streaming data with minimal latency
• Lead frontend architectural decisions and guide long-term technical direction of the UI layer

 

Requirements

Must have

• 3–5 years of experience in production-grade frontend development
• Deep experience with Next.js, including SSR/SSG/ISR
• Strong proficiency in React, TypeScript, and TailwindCSS
• Direct experience integrating WebSocket-based real-time data feeds
• Ability to design and prototype in Figma
• Fluent in written and spoken English

 

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with financial charting using Lightweight Charts (TradingView)
• Familiarity with animation libraries like Framer Motion
• Prior experience working with Playwright or Cypress for E2E testing
• Experience profiling and optimizing React render performance using tools like React Profiler and flame graphs
• Background working with quantitative trading, fintech, or data analytics platforms
