Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Director of Consulting Services to lead the delivery function within our growing Professional Services organization.

This role is responsible for ensuring the successful delivery of client engagements across Privacy, Governance, Risk, Compliance, Data Security, Third-Party Risk Management, and related advisory services. The Director will provide leadership and oversight across a portfolio of consulting engagements, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

The successful candidate will focus on operational excellence, delivery consistency, resource management, quality assurance, client satisfaction, and team development. Working closely with Senior Managers, Engagement Leaders, Project Managers, and executive leadership, this individual will help scale Zaviant's delivery capabilities while maintaining the high-touch, boutique client experience that defines our brand.

This role is ideal for a leader who enjoys building high-performing teams, improving delivery operations, solving complex client challenges, and creating an environment where consultants can do their best work.

Key Responsibilities

Client Delivery & Portfolio Management

  • Provide executive oversight across all consulting engagements to ensure successful delivery, client satisfaction, and commercial performance.
  • Own delivery governance across the consulting portfolio, ensuring consistency in methodology, reporting, quality standards, and execution.
  • Monitor engagement health, resource allocation, utilization, budgets, timelines, risks, and dependencies across multiple concurrent projects.
  • Partner with Senior Managers, Engagement Leaders, Project Managers, and Consultants to proactively identify and resolve delivery challenges.
  • Establish and maintain delivery metrics, KPIs, and reporting mechanisms that provide visibility into project performance and team effectiveness.
  • Drive accountability for project execution, ensuring deliverables consistently meet client expectations and contractual commitments.
  • Act as the primary escalation point for delivery-related issues, risks, and client concerns.
  • Ensure effective coordination between Consulting Services, Technology Implementation Services, PMO, and client stakeholders.
  • Oversee capacity planning and resource forecasting to ensure the right skills are aligned to client demand.
  • Continuously improve delivery frameworks, methodologies, and operational processes to support scalability and consistency.

Operational Leadership & Quality Assurance

  • Establish quality assurance standards across all consulting deliverables.
  • Implement repeatable delivery processes that improve efficiency while maintaining flexibility for client-specific requirements.
  • Drive utilization, forecasting, margin management, and operational performance across the consulting practice.
  • Collaborate with the PMO to strengthen project governance, reporting, risk management, and resource planning.
  • Review delivery performance metrics and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Support the development and adoption of standard templates, methodologies, playbooks, and engagement frameworks.
  • Ensure consulting teams have the tools, processes, and support required to deliver consistently excellent client outcomes.
  • Maintain visibility of delivery risks and implement mitigation strategies where necessary.

Team Leadership & Culture

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Senior Managers, Engagement Leaders, Senior Consultants, Consultants, and technical specialists.
  • Foster a collegiate, collaborative culture that encourages innovation, accountability, continuous learning, and professional growth.
  • Create an environment where team members feel supported, empowered, and connected within a remote-first workplace.
  • Drive workforce planning, succession planning, recruitment, onboarding, and retention initiatives.
  • Establish clear performance expectations and support career development through coaching, mentoring, and regular feedback.
  • Champion Zaviant's values and ensure they are embedded throughout the consulting organization.
  • Promote knowledge sharing and collaboration across Privacy, Security, GRC, Third-Party Risk, and Technology Implementation teams.
  • Recognize and develop future leaders within the business.

Business Development Support

  • Support proposal development and solution design activities for strategic opportunities.
  • Provide delivery expertise during sales and scoping discussions to ensure engagements are structured for success.
  • Support client retention and growth through exceptional delivery and trusted advisor relationships.
  • Partner with leadership to identify opportunities to enhance service offerings and improve delivery capabilities.
  • Maintain strong relationships with key client stakeholders and technology partners.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 10 years of experience within Privacy, Governance, Risk & Compliance, Cybersecurity, Information Security, Professional Services, or related consulting disciplines.
  • Minimum 5 years of leadership experience managing consulting teams, client portfolios, and professional services delivery functions.
  • Demonstrated experience leading Professional Services, Consulting Delivery, Client Delivery, or PMO functions.
  • Proven success managing complex client relationships and delivering multiple concurrent consulting engagements.
  • Strong understanding of Privacy, Data Protection, Governance, Risk Management, Cybersecurity, Third-Party Risk Management, and Security Governance principles.
  • Knowledge of regulatory and compliance frameworks including GDPR, CPRA, HIPAA, GLBA, NIST CSF, ISO 27001, SOC 2, and related standards.
  • Experience overseeing or supporting the implementation of GRC and Privacy technology platforms such as OneTrust, ServiceNow, ZenGRC, IBM OpenPages, or similar solutions.
  • Strong understanding of project delivery methodologies, resource management, forecasting, utilization management, and delivery governance.
  • Experience leading distributed and remote consulting teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to scale delivery operations while maintaining quality, consistency, and client satisfaction.
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Business, Legal Studies, or a related discipline.

  • Experience supporting vCISO advisory engagements.
  • Experience operating within a consulting or professional services environment.
  • Advanced degree in a relevant discipline.
