About the Role:

We are hiring a Manager, Information Technology to lead a team of eight and report directly to the Sr. Director of Security & Infrastructure. The team includes Systems Administrators, Network Administrators, a Database Administrator, a Security Analyst, and Helpdesk Technicians, with members based in Novato, CA; Obetz, OH; and Makati, Philippines.

IT plays a vital role in our mission by ensuring the reliability of the systems, data, and infrastructure that support manufacturing, e-commerce, and customer service, enabling us to deliver high-quality, affordable eyewear at scale.

This position requires on-site presence Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., at our or Obetz, OH, location with an occasional need for on-call, as necessary.

Responsibilities:

Database Administration Oversight

  • Guide and support team members managing SQL Server and MySQL environments
  • Ensure performance, integrity, and backup/recovery practices are maintained

Helpdesk Support Leadership

  • Oversee the helpdesk team and ensure timely, high-quality technical support.
  • Develop training materials and improve support workflows

Network Administration Management

  • Supervise the design, configuration, and monitoring of network infrastructure.
  • Ensure uptime, security, and performance across all networking components

System Administration Direction

  • Manage team responsibilities across Microsoft AD, Azure AD, Windows/Linux/Mac systems.
  • Ensure proper patching, access controls, and system health across environments.

Security & Compliance Governance

  • Lead audits, risk assessments, and compliance initiatives
  • Maintain policies and standards for data protection and regulatory alignment

Strategic IT Leadership

  • Set direction and roadmap for IT infrastructure and systems
  • Lead cross-functional projects that align technology with business goals
  • Review architectural designs and process documentation for consistency and scalability

Basic Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of progressive IT experience, including 3+ years in a leadership or managerial role
  • Proven ability to oversee teams responsible for:
    • Database administration (SQL Server, MySQL)
    • Helpdesk support and technical training
    • Network infrastructure (Fortinet, Cisco, DNS, DHCP, VPNs)System administration (Windows Server, Linux/macOS, AD, Azure AD)
    • Security and compliance (policy enforcement, audit readiness, risk management)
  • Experience managing cloud environments (AWS, GCP, Azure)
  • Strong project management skills with experience leading cross-functional IT initiatives
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, team leadership, and stakeholder engagement skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
  • Experience with:
    • Microsoft technologies: AAD Connect, SCCM, Exchange Online, SharePoint
    • Virtualization platforms such as VMware vSphere
    • Collaboration tools (Microsoft 365, Teams, Zoom, Slack)
    • IT process documentation and architectural diagramming
  • Familiarity with Agile, Scrum, or hybrid project methodologies
  • Background in process improvement, automation, and IT strategy development
  • Demonstrated success managing IT in a fast-paced or start-up environment

Compensation

In addition to other forms of compensation like perks and benefits, the estimated range for this role is $125,000 - $145,000. The final offer will be determined based on permissible, non-discriminatory factors such as skill set, experience, geographical location, market conditions, and other organizational needs. The Company reserves the right to change, modify, or revisit the salary range for various reasons including business needs.
