About the Role
Zenni Optical is seeking a skilled and motivated Maintenance Supervisor to join our amazing team in Obetz, Ohio. In this hands-on role, you will be responsible for supervision of the maintenance team who will be troubleshooting, maintaining and repairing a variety of optical manufacturing equipment to ensure smooth and efficient operations. You’ll play a vital role in minimizing downtime and supporting production goals by executing both preventative and reactive maintenance tasks.

Shift: Friday through Monday position 40+ hours per week salary (7am – 5pm)
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and assign maintenance projects
- Oversee ongoing maintenance programs (Maintenance Connection), including routine maintenance, seasonal preparations, renovation projects and scheduled upgrades
- Conduct regular inspections
- Maintain accurate records of repairs, inspections, inventory, etc.
- Collaborate with third-party contractors and technicians as needed
- Hire, train and supervise maintenance employees
- Ensure safety compliance, including training staff on safety measures
- Knowledge of commonly used maintenance equipment and materials
- Experience with approved repair and installation techniques for various maintenance procedures, including best practices for HVAC, plumbing, carpentry and electrical work
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Understanding of current safety regulations and protocols
- Strong troubleshooting skills to identify and address malfunctions
- Maintain and repair a wide range of optical manufacturing equipment, effectively balancing time between production support and preventative maintenance tasks
- Install, maintain, and troubleshoot in-line manufacturing equipment to ensure optimal performance and minimal downtime
- Diagnose equipment issues, identify faulty components, and perform repairs using standard electronic testing tools, technical documentation, and both written and verbal instructions
- Inspect, service, and repair production and support equipment utilizing mechanical, electrical, electronic, hydraulic, pneumatic, and vacuum system technologies
Basic Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a leadership role
- Candidates will have relevant experience in building maintenance, facility management, or skilled trades. May include past roles such as Maintenance Technician, Facilities Coordinator or Lead Hand.
- Demonstrated ability to guide tasks, coordinate schedules, or support a team.
- Hands-on experience in diagnosing and resolving a wide range of maintenance issues is essential. Can include routine fixes like tightening hardware or adjustingndoor alignment, as well as more technical repairs such as plumbing leaks or HVAC malfunctions.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous optical manufacturing experience is a bonus!
